National Sales Head

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven National Sales Head to lead our pan-India sales operations. The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the national sales strategy, driving revenue growth, expanding distribution, strengthening channel partnerships, and building a high-performing sales team.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in agri-inputs, agrochemicals, fertilizers, biological products, crop protection products, or related agriculture businesses, with a proven track record of managing large-scale sales operations.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute the National Sales Strategy aligned with business objectives.
Drive revenue, volume, profitability, and market-share growth across India.
Lead and manage the pan-India sales team, including regional/state sales teams.
Develop and strengthen the company's dealer, distributor, retailer, and institutional network.
Identify new markets, territories, products, and business opportunities.
Set annual, quarterly, and monthly sales targets and ensure achievement.
Monitor regional and territory-wise sales performance and take corrective actions.
Develop effective channel strategies, incentive programs, and sales schemes.
Build strong relationships with key distributors, dealers, large farmers, institutions, and strategic customers.
Work closely with Marketing, Product, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure smooth business execution.
Monitor competitor activities, market trends, pricing, product positioning, and customer requirements.
Develop sales forecasts and ensure effective inventory planning in coordination with the supply chain team.
Ensure healthy collections, credit control, and channel profitability.
Conduct regular business reviews with regional and state teams.
Recruit, train, mentor, and develop sales leaders and field teams.
Establish strong sales processes, reporting systems, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable industry/regulatory requirements.
Represent the company at major agriculture exhibitions, dealer meets, farmer events, conferences, and industry forums.

Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
MBA/PGDM in Sales & Marketing/Agribusiness will be an advantage.
10–15+ years of sales experience, preferably in the agriculture/agri-input industry.
Strong experience in national or multi-state sales management.
Proven experience managing large sales teams and distributor/dealer networks.
Strong understanding of the Indian agriculture market and distribution ecosystem.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
Strong commercial acumen with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Willingness to travel extensively across India.
