About the role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer – AWS to own and evolve the AWS-based control plane that powers centralized AI capabilities across EG. You will drive architecture decisions, establish engineering standards, and ensure operational excellence across critical AWS services. You will collaborate closely with platform teams across cloud environments to deliver a consistent and secure AI platform experience. You will cooperate with SDK Engineers to incorporate AWS-specific functionality into the AI Platform we are building.
Your role, key Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture, deployment, and operation of AWS-hosted AI platform services.
- Own the AWS control plane supporting centralized AI capabilities and integrations.
- Design and manage cloud-native solutions leveraging:
- API Gateway
- Lambda & Lambda Authorizers
- Amazon Bedrock (Claude, Titan, Llama)
- Step Functions
- OpenSearch
- DynamoDB
- Bedrock Guardrails
- Amazon Comprehend
- Establish Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) standards using Terraform and/or AWS CDK.
- Implement security, compliance, observability, and operational best practices across the platform.
- Drive high availability, performance optimization, disaster recovery, and cost management initiatives.
- Partner with engineering teams and Business Units to ensure successful adoption of platform capabilities.
- Lead incident response, production support, and on-call operations for critical platform services.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across AWS platform initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-cloud platform teams to maintain architectural alignment and shared engineering standards.
Your profile and mandatory skill set:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience designing and operating large-scale AWS environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and event-driven design patterns.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, tracing, and observability frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience implementing cloud security, governance, and access management best practices.
- Experience supporting production workloads with strong operational ownership.
