Job Description
A NetSuite Zone Advanced Billing (ZAB) & Advanced Revenue Management (ARM) Consultant is responsible for implementing, configuring, and supporting subscription billing, recurring billing, usage-based billing, contract modifications, and ASC 606/IFRS 15 compliant revenue recognition processes within NetSuite. ZoneBilling extends NetSuite's native billing capabilities while integrating closely with ARM for automated revenue recognition.

Gather and analyze business requirements related to subscription billing and revenue recognition.

Conduct Fit-Gap analysis for billing, invoicing, and revenue accounting processes.

Design scalable billing and revenue recognition solutions aligned with business objectives.

Recommend best practices for recurring, milestone-based, fixed-fee, and usage-based billing models.

Configure ZoneBilling for subscription and recurring billing.
-
Set up billing schedules, billing frequencies, and contract terms.

Configure pricing models, including: Fixed Price Recurring Billing Usage-Based Billing Milestone Billing Hybrid Billing

Configure customer subscriptions, renewals, amendments, upgrades, downgrades, and cancellations.

Configure billing automation and invoice generation workflows.
-
Manage contract modifications and change orders.
-
Configure NetSuite ARM revenue recognition rules and templates.
-
Set up revenue arrangements and revenue elements.
-
Configure revenue allocation for multi-element contracts and standalone selling price (SSP) scenarios.
-
Define fair value pricing and allocation rules where applicable.
-
Support ASC 606 and IFRS 15 compliant revenue recognition.
-
Configure deferred revenue schedules and automate revenue recognition.
-
Monitor revenue allocation and recognition processes and resolve exceptions.
-
Integrate ZoneBilling with NetSuite ARM for automated revenue processing.

Ensure invoices generated through ZoneBilling create accurate revenue arrangements.
-
Validate billing-to-revenue synchronization.
-
Support integrations with CRM, CPQ, payment gateways, tax engines, and external ERP applications.

Configure subscription lifecycle management.
-
Manage renewals, amendments, cancellations, and contract extensions.
-
Support usage collection and usage-based invoicing.
-
Maintain pricing catalogs and billing plans.
-
Ensure contract changes are accurately reflected in billing and revenue schedules.

Support Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes.
-
Support billing close and month-end financial close activities.
-
Reconcile invoices, deferred revenue, and recognized revenue.
-
Assist finance teams during audit and compliance reviews.
-
Migrate customer contracts, subscriptions, billing schedules, and revenue schedules.
-
Validate migrated billing and revenue data.
-
Perform reconciliation between legacy systems and NetSuite.
-
Develop billing dashboards and KPIs.
-
Create saved searches and SuiteAnalytics reports.
-
Produce revenue recognition and deferred revenue reports.
-
Build operational and financial reports for management.
-
Prepare test scenarios for billing and revenue processes.
-
Execute System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
-
Validate billing calculations and revenue allocation results.
-
Support production deployment and post-go-live stabilization.
-
Troubleshoot billing and revenue recognition issues.
-
Resolve invoice generation and subscription processing errors.
-
Support month-end and year-end financial close.
-
Coordinate with finance, accounting, and technical teams to resolve production issues.
-
Prepare functional and configuration documents.
-
Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
-
Conduct end-user and finance team training.
-
Maintain knowledge articles and implementation documentation.
-
Strong knowledge of NetSuite ERP.
-
Experience with Zone Advanced Billing (ZoneBilling).
-
Expertise in NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM).
-
Knowledge of ASC 606 and IFRS 15 revenue recognition standards.
-
Experience with recurring, subscription, milestone, and usage-based billing models.
-
Understanding of Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Record-to-Report (R2R) business processes.
-
Experience with SuiteAnalytics, Saved Searches, Workflows, and SuiteBuilder.
-
Familiarity with SuiteScript, REST/SOAP APIs, and integrations (preferred).
-
Strong understanding of financial accounting concepts, including deferred revenue and revenue allocation.
-
Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
These responsibilities are appropriate for a NetSuite Zone Advanced Billing & ARM Functional Consultant, Senior Consultant, or Implementation Specialist supporting implementation, enhancement, or production support projects.
