Senior Merchandiser – Fabric Local

Role Summary
The Senior Merchandiser will own the complete merchandising cycle from sampling to shipment for assigned buyers and product categories.
This role will act as the key contact between buyers, mills, processing units, production, quality and warehouse to ensure on‑time delivery, correct quality and targeted margins.[
Key Responsibilities
· Manage end‑to‑end order execution: enquiry, sampling, approvals, costing, bulk production, inspections and shipment for assigned accounts.
· Handle direct communication with buyers / buying houses, understand technical requirements, pricing targets and delivery schedules, and share timely updates.
· Lead product development and sampling (lab dips, strike‑offs, handlooms/CADs, size sets) and obtain necessary approvals before bulk production.
· Prepare and review costing sheets (fabric, trims, processing, CM, overheads, margins) and negotiate with buyers and suppliers to meet gross margin targets.
· Create and monitor Time & Action (TNA) plans / critical path, coordinating with internal teams to ensure all milestones are met.
· Coordinate with mills, processors, printers, fabric units and accessory suppliers for on‑time material sourcing and in‑house.
· Work closely with quality and production teams to monitor inline quality, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with buyer standards.
· Oversee final inspection, packing, labeling, documentation and dispatch to ensure accurate and on‑time shipment.
· Analyse post‑shipment performance and margins, and suggest process improvements for future orders.
· Guide and supervise junior merchandisers / merchandiser assistants, allocate work, and review their costing, TNA and communication.
Requirements
· Graduate / Diploma in Textiles, Fashion Technology, Garment Manufacturing, Commerce or related field.
· 5–8 years of experience in merchandising in the textile / garment industry, with at least 2–3 years handling buyers independently as a merchandiser.
· Strong knowledge of fabric types, constructions, finishes, garment production processes and testing parameters.
· Proven experience in costing, price negotiation and margin management.
· Excellent communication and coordination skills for dealing with buyers, mills, processing units and internal teams.
· Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, email communication; experience with ERP/MIS systems is an advantage.
· Ability to work under tight timelines, manage multiple orders and lead a small team.

Pay: ₹38,000.00 - ₹46,000.00 per month
