Japanese & Chinese Chef – Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Japanese & Chinese Chef with strong knowledge of Pan-Asian cuisine, kitchen operations, and food presentation. The candidate should have hands-on experience in preparing authentic Japanese and Chinese dishes while maintaining quality, hygiene, and consistency standards.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and present authentic Japanese and Chinese dishes as per restaurant standards.
Handle sushi, dim sums, wok cooking, ramen, tempura, stir-fry, and specialty Asian preparations.
Maintain food quality, taste consistency, and presentation standards.
Ensure proper mise en place and kitchen readiness during operations.
Monitor food stock, inventory, and kitchen wastage control.
Follow hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards at all times.
Coordinate with kitchen and service teams for smooth operations.
Train and guide junior kitchen staff when required.
Support menu planning and new dish development.

Requirements

Minimum 3–8 years of experience in Japanese and/or Chinese cuisine.
Strong knowledge of Pan-Asian ingredients, sauces, and cooking techniques.
Experience in fine dining, premium casual dining, or hotel kitchens preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Culinary diploma or hotel management qualification preferred.
