A hospital receptionist acts as the primary point of contact, managing front-desk operations by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and handling check-ins/check-outs. Key duties include updating electronic health records (EHR), verifying insurance, handling phone queries, and processing payments. Essential skills include proficiency in medical software (e.g., Epic), strong communication, and multitasking.

Responsibilities

Patient Registration & Scheduling: Registering new patients, updating patient demographics, and scheduling/confirming appointments using scheduling software.
Front-Desk Management: Greeting visitors, directing patients to correct departments, and maintaining a clean, welcoming, and organized reception area.
Administrative Support: Answering phone calls, managing inquiries, managing sensitive, confidential information (HIPAA compliance), and scanning documents.
Financial Tasks: Verifying insurance coverage, collecting co-payments, and managing billing queries.
