Position Summary
Anshika Fasteners Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced and hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Head to lead the maintenance function of its fastener manufacturing plant. The role is responsible for ensuring maximum machine uptime, preventive maintenance, breakdown control, spare parts planning, machine reliability, and continuous improvement across cold forging, thread rolling, nut forming, tapping, washer stamping, heat treatment, plating, galvanizing, material handling, and utility equipment.
The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing environment, preferably in fasteners, cold forging, auto components, steel processing, or heavy engineering industries.
Key Responsibilities1. Mechanical Maintenance & Machine Uptime
Lead all mechanical maintenance activities for cold forging headers, bolt formers, nut formers, thread rolling machines, tapping machines, trimming machines, washer presses, wire drawing equipment, shot blasting, heat treatment, plating, galvanizing, compressors, pumps, cranes, hoists, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and material handling equipment.
Ensure maximum machine availability and minimum unplanned breakdowns.
Diagnose mechanical faults quickly and carry out permanent corrective actions instead of temporary repairs.
Maintain proper alignment, lubrication, bearing condition, gear condition, hydraulic pressure, pneumatic systems, mechanical drives, clutches, brakes, shafts, rollers, dies, punches, feeders, slides, cams, and machine assemblies.
2. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
Prepare and implement daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual preventive maintenance schedules.
Create machine-wise maintenance checklists and ensure strict compliance.
Develop predictive maintenance practices such as vibration checks, lubrication monitoring, temperature checks, abnormal noise detection, oil leakage checks, hydraulic pressure monitoring, and wear-part replacement planning.
Track repeated breakdowns and prepare root cause analysis with corrective and preventive action.
3. Breakdown Management
Attend major breakdowns on priority and ensure fast restoration of machines.
Build a system to record breakdown time, reason, action taken, spare used, responsible person, and preventive action.
Reduce MTTR and improve MTBF across all critical machines.
Ensure that no machine remains idle due to poor maintenance planning, lack of spares, or delayed decision-making.
4. Spare Parts & Inventory Planning
Prepare critical spare parts lists for all major machines.
Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels for bearings, bushes, gears, belts, chains, hydraulic seals, pneumatic parts, electrical-mechanical accessories, lubricants, tools, fasteners, consumables, and imported machine spares.
Coordinate with purchase and stores for timely procurement of spares.
Reduce emergency purchases by improving planning and stock control.
Identify local development opportunities for imported or difficult-to-source spares.
5. Team Leadership
Lead the mechanical maintenance team, fitters, helpers, welders, and utility technicians.
Allocate daily work and monitor completion.
Train team members on machine maintenance, safety, lubrication, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
Develop skill matrix for the maintenance team and improve multi-skill capability.
Ensure discipline, accountability, and proper shift handover within the maintenance department.
6. Documentation & Systems
Maintain all maintenance records as required under ISO/IATF systems.
Prepare and maintain:
Machine history cards
Preventive maintenance schedules
Breakdown reports
Spare parts consumption records
Lubrication charts
AMC records
Calibration support records
Maintenance KPIs
Root cause analysis reports
Improvement action plans
Ensure all maintenance data is properly entered into ERP or maintenance tracking systems.
7. Utility & Plant Infrastructure Maintenance
Ensure proper maintenance of compressors, DG sets, EOT cranes, air lines, water pumps, cooling systems, exhausters, blowers, pipelines, tanks, furnaces, galvanizing equipment, plating equipment, and general plant infrastructure.
Support civil, fabrication, ducting, piping, and plant modification work wherever required.
Ensure proper functioning of safety guards, machine covers, exhaust systems, oil trays, and housekeeping-related mechanical systems.
8. Continuous Improvement
Identify chronic machine problems and eliminate them through engineering improvements.
Improve machine productivity by reducing downtime, improving feeding systems, reducing vibration, improving lubrication, and upgrading weak mechanical assemblies.
Work with production, quality, tool room, and operations teams to improve machine performance and product quality.
Support new machine installation, commissioning, layout changes, machine shifting, and capacity expansion projects.
9. Safety & Compliance
Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely with proper lockout/tagout, PPE, lifting tools, welding safety, electrical isolation, and hot work precautions.
Ensure machine guards and safety systems are maintained properly.
Support fire safety, monsoon safety, electrical panel protection, oil leakage control, and housekeeping improvement.
Ensure zero unsafe maintenance practices inside the plant.

Required Qualification
Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
ITI with strong practical experience may also be considered for highly experienced candidates.
Required Experience
Minimum 10–15 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant.
At least 5 years in a leadership role handling a maintenance team.
Experience in fastener manufacturing, cold forging, wire drawing, auto components, steel processing, forging, press shop, or heavy engineering will be preferred.
Required Skills
Strong hands-on mechanical troubleshooting ability.
Knowledge of cold forging machines, thread rolling machines, presses, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, gearboxes, bearings, lubrication, shafts, cams, clutches, brakes, and machine alignment.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and machine manuals.
Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance systems.
Good planning and team management skills.
Ability to work under pressure during breakdowns.
Knowledge of welding, fabrication, machining, and spare development.
Basic knowledge of ISO/IATF documentation requirements.
Good coordination with production, quality, stores, purchase, and management.

Objective of the Role
The Mechanical Maintenance Head will be responsible for building a reliable, disciplined, and proactive maintenance system at Anshika Fasteners so that production targets, quality requirements, customer deliveries, and expansion plans are supported without machine breakdown bottlenecks.
