Photo Editor — Framed Memoirs
Location: Kolkata, West Bengal
Work Mode: Full-time, in-office
Experience: 1–4 years preferred. Freshers with a strong portfolio/test assignment may apply.
Employment Type: Full-time
CTC: Based on experience, portfolio quality, technical skill, speed, and test assignment performance.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Photo Editor who understands that wedding photographs are not just images — they are emotional memories of people, families, relationships, and once-in-a-lifetime moments.
At Framed Memoirs, photo editing is not about applying presets blindly or making images look trendy. It is about preserving the honesty of real moments while elevating them through thoughtful colour, tone, skin correction, consistency, and storytelling sensitivity.
You will work on wedding galleries, couple shoots, portraits, family celebrations, and other emotionally driven photography projects. Your role will be to help create images that feel natural, timeless, cinematic, and deeply human.
This is a role for someone who has strong editing taste, patience, attention to detail, and the discipline to work within a structured post-production workflow.
About Framed Memoirs
Framed Memoirs is the wedding storytelling vertical of Framed.
We focus on creating emotionally immersive wedding photographs and films rooted in authenticity, relationships, nostalgia, and human connection.
We care deeply about emotion, atmosphere, storytelling, visual honesty, and timelessness. We’re building a team that values craft, discipline, ownership, and sensitivity toward human stories.
Key Responsibilities
1. Wedding & Portrait Photo Editing
- Edit wedding, couple shoot, portrait, and celebration images.
- Maintain natural, timeless, cinematic, and emotionally sensitive editing.
- Ensure consistency in skin tones, exposure, warmth, contrast, colour, and overall mood.
- Understand the emotional context of images and edit accordingly.
- Preserve the authenticity of moments while improving visual quality.
- Avoid over-editing, artificial colours, excessive skin smoothing, or trend-heavy treatment.
2. Colour Correction & Visual Consistency
- Correct exposure, white balance, contrast, colours, and skin tones.
- Maintain consistency across large galleries and full wedding sets.
- Match the visual language of Framed Memoirs.
- Work with presets and references while applying personal judgement where needed.
- Ensure images feel cohesive across different lighting situations, events, and photographers.
3. Retouching & Image Refinement
- Perform basic to intermediate retouching in Photoshop where required.
- Clean distractions, minor blemishes, background disturbances, and visual inconsistencies.
- Retouch skin naturally while preserving texture and realism.
- Prepare selected images for albums, social media, and final client delivery.
4. Workflow & Project Discipline
- Organise Lightroom catalogs, folders, exports, and final files properly.
- Follow Framed’s internal folder structure, naming conventions, and export settings.
- Work on assigned tasks within given timelines.
- Update task status regularly on the company’s project management system.
- Handle feedback and correction rounds carefully.
- Communicate delays, blockers, or doubts in advance.
- Maintain confidentiality of client images and internal project material.
5. Photo Shortlisting & Selection
- Shortlist images from large wedding, couple shoot, portrait, and celebration galleries.
- Identify strong images based on emotion, composition, expressions, storytelling value, lighting, and technical quality.
- Remove duplicates, missed-focus images, awkward expressions, repetitive frames, and technically weak photographs.
- Select images that represent the full story of the event — people, rituals, details, emotions, décor, candids, portraits, and family moments.
- Assist in preparing selections for final edits, Director’s Cut, albums, blogs, and social media when required.
- Maintain balance between emotional value and visual quality while shortlisting.
- Understand the importance of key family members, important rituals, and client priorities while making selections.
- Follow Framed’s internal shortlisting standards and folder/category structure.
Creative Skills Required
- Good visual taste and storytelling instinct.
- Strong understanding of colour, mood, emotion, and atmosphere.
- Good sense of skin tones, warmth, contrast, and natural light.
- Ability to make images look refined without making them look fake.
- Sensitivity toward weddings, families, traditions, and emotional moments.
- Ability to maintain consistency across large sets of images.
- Patience and attention to detail.
Technical Skills Required
- Proficiency in Adobe Lightroom.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
- Understanding of colour correction and colour grading.
- Ability to work with large wedding galleries efficiently.
- Knowledge of export settings for web gallery, social media, album, and print use.
- Ability to maintain clean catalogs, folders, and file structures.
- Basic retouching skills with a natural finish.
Work Discipline Expected
At Framed Memoirs, creative quality and workflow discipline are equally important.
You will be expected to:
- Maintain clean Lightroom catalogs, folders, exports, and backups.
- Follow internal editing workflows and naming conventions.
- Respect deadlines and delivery commitments.
- Update project status regularly.
- Take feedback positively and implement changes accurately.
- Avoid careless export, upload, correction, or file naming errors.
- Stay organised while handling multiple assignments.
- Ask questions when unclear instead of assuming.
- Take ownership of assigned work without repeated follow-ups.
Bonus If You
- Have experience in wedding, portrait, or event photo editing.
- Understand cinematic and documentary-inspired colour styles.
- Have experience preparing images for albums or print.
- Explore AI-assisted editing and workflow optimisation tools.
- Love photography, cinema, design, music, and human-centered storytelling.
- Care about emotional authenticity over trend-driven aesthetics.
Who This Role Is For
This role is for someone who:
- Enjoys photo editing as a craft.
- Understands that consistency matters as much as creativity.
- Has patience for detailed, repetitive, high-volume editing work.
- Can follow a brand’s editing style instead of forcing only their own.
- Takes feedback well and improves with each project.
- Is organised with files, folders, catalogs, and exports.
- Can balance quality with speed.
- Wants to grow as a serious photo editor in a storytelling-driven company.
