Executive – Finance & Accounts
Qualification (Must-have):
B.Com / M.Com; CA (Inter) / CA / MBA-Finance preferred
8–12 years in core accounting incl. finalization, with at least 3–4 years of hands-on Excel-based payroll processing for 300+ employees
Manufacturing / Corporate environment preferred
Tally, ERP (SAP / Glovia / Oracle), Advanced Excel, payroll software (e.g., greytHR, Kronos) an advantage

Position Summary
The Executive – Finance & Accounts is responsible for end-to-end management of the organization's accounting function together with complete payroll processing and statutory compliance. Working independently and under the broad guidance of the Finance Controller, the incumbent supervises daily accounting operations across ERP/Tally, ensures accurate books of accounts up to finalization, and manages monthly payroll — including payroll calculation, tax computation, and statutory filings — for the entire employee base.
The incumbent should be a highly motivated self-starter with strong supervisory, review, and problem-solving skills, capable of independently handling both accounting finalization and high-volume payroll calculation and processing, while coordinating closely with the Controller, auditors, and other departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee daily accounting activities in ERP/Tally as per applicable accounting standards (Ind AS / IFRS / US GAAP as applicable)
- Supervise, pass and review accounting entries for routine transactions and fixed asset accounting
- Review cash & bank statements on a daily basis; maintain organized records of all financial transactions
- Review the general ledger on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of postings
- Ensure timely and accurate closure of month-end, quarter-end and year-end activities in coordination with the Controller
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and ad hoc financial reports
- Guide and resolve complex accounting issues; assist the Controller in resolving financial and accounting matters
- Maintain a complete and organized set of accounting records and documents as required by the organization and accounting standards
- Accounts Payable, Receivable & Banking
- Manage Accounts Payable & Receivable, including employee reimbursements and vendor payments/receipts (domestic & international)
- Prepare and review vendor reconciliation statements to ensure payments/receipts are in line with POs issued/received
- Process purchase and sales entries in Tally/ERP; manage online payments (NEFT/RTGS) and petty cash
- Maintain ageing reports for debtors and creditors
- Coordinate with bankers for day-to-day domestic and international payments, receipts, and documentation formalities
- Liaise with CA firms to obtain certificates mandatorily required by banks for payments & receipts
III. Payroll Processing & Statutory Compliance
- Own end-to-end monthly payroll processing for all employees, including full and final settlements, along with tax computation
- Perform detailed payroll calculations in Excel for a workforce of 300+ employees — CTC structuring, salary breakups, deductions, arrears, and reimbursements
- Maintain overtime records and book production/engineering man-hours against jobs in the ERP
- File monthly and annual statutory returns as applicable — PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, MLWF, TDS on salaries, etc.
- Pass salary and payroll-related accounting entries into ERP/Tally
- Issue Form 16 and salary certificates to employees; maintain payroll records for contractual/outsourced staff
- Maintain payroll MIS and man-hour utilization reports for management review
- Conduct employee awareness sessions on payroll-related statutory changes
- Direct & Indirect Taxation
- Compute and ensure timely payment/filing of TDS, GST, and Professional Tax
- Provide monthly TDS data for all vendors to ensure payments as per statutory due dates; generate quarterly TDS certificates
- Support preparation of documentation required for direct and indirect tax assessments
- Update senior management proactively on statutory and regulatory changes
- Prepare schedules and data required for statutory, tax, internal, and other audits
- Ensure effective coordination with statutory auditors, tax auditors, and internal auditors on all audit matters
- Support documentation for internal and external audits, and secretarial compliance requirements
- Prepare and maintain weekly and monthly MIS: Accounts Payable & Receivable, cash & bank reconciliation, ageing reports
- Ensure all cost elements — labour and engineering hours, administrative expenses, overheads — are accurately recorded
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely closure of monthly activities and reporting deadlines
VII. Other
- Support liaison activities with tax consultants and authorities as required
- Perform other duties as assigned or required by the department/organization
Person Specification
The Executive – Finance & Accounts is a person who can independently manage the accounting function up to finalization stage while also owning the complete payroll calculation and processing cycle. A person with a strong understanding of accounting policies, payroll practices, and statutory compliance is required in this position.
B.Com / M.Com, with CA (Inter) / MBA-Finance preferred.
- Minimum 8–12 years of progressive experience in accounting, including finalization of accounts.
- At least 3–4 years of hands-on payroll processing experience for 300+ employees, including payroll calculations in Excel.
- Experience in a manufacturing / corporate environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of Tally and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Glovia, Oracle).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability to deal with complex accounting and payroll issues
- Advanced Excel (payroll calculation, reconciliations, MIS dashboards)
- ERP / Tally / ideally a payroll software (e.g., greytHR, Kronos, SAP HR)
