Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Magento Developer to lead the design, development, optimization, and maintenance of high-performance e-commerce platforms. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical leadership, deep Magento expertise, and the ability to architect scalable solutions while mentoring junior developers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end development of Magento (Adobe Commerce) websites and modules across front-end and back-end.
- Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance e-commerce solutions.
- Customize Magento core functionalities, extensions, and themes while following Magento best practices.
- Develop custom modules, APIs, and integrations with third-party services (payment gateways, ERP, CRM, shipping, analytics, etc.).
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, version control, and deployment workflows.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices in OOP, design patterns, and Magento architecture.
- Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality releases.
- Contribute to technical planning, estimations, and project roadmaps.
Performance Optimization & Security
- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimization strategies (caching, indexing, database tuning, CDN usage).
- Improve page speed, scalability, and system reliability.
- Ensure platform security and compliance with industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments.
Integration & Deployment
- Implement and maintain REST/SOAP APIs and headless commerce integrations.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and staging environments.
- Ensure smooth system upgrades, patches, and Magento version migrations.
Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Expertise
- 5+ years of experience in Magento / Adobe Commerce development.
- Strong backend development expertise using PHP, MySQL, and Magento framework.
- Advanced knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns.
- Solid front-end development skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, KnockoutJS, RequireJS.
- Experience with Magento 2 architecture, extension development, and theme customization.
- Strong experience in API integrations and third-party service connectivity.
- Proficiency with Git, Composer, Linux, and cloud hosting environments.
E-commerce & Performance
- Deep understanding of e-commerce workflows, checkout processes, and payment integrations.
- Proven experience in performance optimization, caching (Varnish/Redis), and database tuning.
- Experience with SEO best practices and site performance monitoring tools is a plus.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

- Magento / Adobe Commerce certifications.
- Experience with headless commerce (PWA, React, Vue).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and containerization (Docker).
