Full job description

Key Responsibilities1. PCB Layout Design

Design the layout of single-sided, double-sided, or multi-layer PCBs using tools like Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD, EAGLE, or Mentor Graphics.
Optimize placement of components for signal integrity, power distribution, thermal performance, and manufacturability.

2. Schematic Capture

Interpret or create circuit schematics to translate electrical designs into physical layouts.
Work closely with hardware engineers to understand circuit functionality and design requirements.

3. Design Rule Checks (DRC) & Electrical Rule Checks (ERC)

Ensure that the board design complies with electrical constraints, spacing rules, and manufacturing limitations.
Run automated checks and fix issues.

4. Component Library Management

Create and manage component footprints and symbols.
Maintain an organized and accurate component library.

5. Gerber File Generation

Generate Gerber files, Bill of Materials (BOM), and pick-and-place files required for fabrication and assembly.

6. Collaboration & Communication

Work with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, fabricators, and assembly teams.
Participate in design reviews, provide updates, and incorporate feedback.

7. DFM & DFA Compliance

Ensure that the design follows Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.

8. Prototyping & Testing Support

Assist in the prototyping phase and work with the test team to identify and resolve design issues.

9. Documentation

Provide thorough documentation of designs, including version control, layer stack-up, fabrication notes, and assembly instructions.

10. Compliance & Standards

Adhere to industry standards such as IPC standards, EMI/EMC guidelines, and RoHS compliance.

Desirable Skills

Proficiency in EDA tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD, KiCad)
Strong understanding of electronics, signal integrity, and power distribution
Attention to detail
Problem-solving mindset
Knowledge of manufacturing processes

Essential Skills:

Technical Proficiency:Strong understanding of electronic components, circuit theory, and PCB design principles.
Software Skills:Expertise in PCB design software like Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro.
Collaboration and Communication:Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate design requirements clearly.
Problem-Solving:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve design issues.
Schematic Conversion:They take electronic schematics as input and translate them into a physical PCB layout, ensuring correct electrical connections and functionality.
Design Optimization:Designers optimize the PCB layout for performance, reliability, and manufacturability, considering factors like signal integrity, power distribution, and thermal management.
Documentation:They prepare and review documentation for manufacturers, including schematics, assembly drawings, and fabrication files.
Collaboration:PCB designers work closely with engineers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders to ensure the final product meets all requirements.
Troubleshooting:They troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues, providing support to engineering and manufacturing teams.

1-2YEAR MIN EXP AS PCB DESIGNER
B.TECH OR M.TECH ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONICS/ETC/INSTRUMENTATION/MECHATRONICS

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹350,000.00 per year
