About the Position
GIFT Autonomous is seeking enthusiastic and motivated candidates to join the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) as Lecturers. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate students, supporting laboratory instruction, encouraging research and innovation, and contributing to academic excellence in core and emerging areas of Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Master's Degree (M.Tech./ME) in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Power Systems, Power Electronics & Drives, Control Systems, Electrical Machines, Renewable Energy, or a related specialization with a consistently good academic record throughout.
- Candidates with strong academic performance and relevant specialization will be given preference.
- Experience
- 1–5 years of teaching experience, OR
- Minimum 2 years of relevant industrial experience.
- Freshers with excellent academic credentials may also apply.
- Applicants with more than seven (7) years of professional experience need not apply.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Academic Activities
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, and mentor undergraduate students in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Prepare lesson plans, laboratory manuals, study materials, assignments, and examinations.
- Teach subjects such as Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Power Electronics, Control Systems, Network Theory, Electrical Measurements, Renewable Energy Systems, and related courses.
- Evaluate student performance and maintain academic records.
- Participate in curriculum development and departmental academic activities.
- Laboratory, Research & Innovation
- Supervise and maintain EEE laboratories and ensure proper utilization of equipment.
- Guide students in laboratory experiments, mini projects, and final-year projects.
- Promote research, innovation, and consultancy activities in areas such as Smart Grids, Electric Vehicles (EV), Renewable Energy, Power Electronics, Industrial Automation, Energy Management, and IoT applications in Electrical Engineering.
- Encourage student participation in technical competitions, hackathons, innovation challenges, workshops, and professional society activities.
- Contribute to research publications, funded projects, patents, and intellectual property initiatives.
Departmental Responsibilities
- Participate in accreditation, quality assurance, and institutional development activities.
- Assist in organizing seminars, workshops, FDPs, conferences, industrial visits, and expert lectures.
- Support NBA, NAAC, AICTE, and other academic quality initiatives.
- Coordinate with industry partners for internships, training, and placement activities.
- Perform other academic and administrative duties assigned by the department and institution.
Desired Skills
- Strong knowledge of Electrical & Electronics Engineering fundamentals.
- Hands-on knowledge of laboratory equipment and electrical testing instruments.
- Familiarity with software/tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, ETAP, PSCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, PLC/SCADA, or equivalent engineering software will be an added advantage.
- Good communication, presentation, and mentoring skills.
- Passion for teaching, research, and innovation.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative academic environment.
