Full job description

The Branch Credit Manager is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all credit-related activities within a specific branch. This includes managing the credit portfolio, assessing loan applications, making informed lending decisions, and ensuring adherence to the organization's credit policies and regulatory guidelines. The manager will lead a team of credit officers, provide guidance, and foster a culture of sound credit practices. This role demands a strong understanding of financial analysis, risk management, and excellent leadership skills to drive branch profitability while maintaining asset quality.

Oversee and manage the entire credit process within the branch, from application to disbursement and monitoring.
Conduct thorough credit analysis of loan applications, including financial statements, credit history, and collateral evaluation, to determine creditworthiness.
Approve or recommend loan applications within delegated authority limits, ensuring compliance with credit policies and risk parameters.
Lead, mentor, and train a team of credit officers and analysts, fostering their professional development and ensuring high performance.
Monitor the branch's loan portfolio performance, identify potential risks, and implement strategies for early detection and resolution of non-performing assets.
Ensure strict adherence to all internal credit policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements (e.g., central bank guidelines).
Develop and maintain strong relationships with branch customers, understanding their financial needs and offering appropriate credit solutions.
Collaborate with the Branch Manager and other departments to achieve overall branch business objectives and growth targets.
Prepare and present regular credit reports, analyses, and forecasts to senior management.
Implement effective risk mitigation strategies and ensure a robust control environment for credit operations.
Stay updated with market trends, economic conditions, and changes in credit regulations to adapt strategies accordingly.
