Job Description – Librarian

Position: Librarian
Location: Patna Patliputra Colony
Department: Administration / Academic
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience: 1–3 Years Preferred

Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible, organized, and detail-oriented Librarian to manage the college library, maintain library resources, and provide students and faculty with efficient access to books, journals, and digital learning resources.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of the college library.
Organize and maintain books, journals, reference materials, and other resources.
Handle book issue, return, renewal, and membership records.
Maintain accurate library records and databases.
Assist students and faculty in locating books and relevant study materials.
Ensure proper classification, cataloguing, and shelving of books.
Maintain library discipline and a peaceful study environment.
Track new book requirements and coordinate procurement.
Maintain records of damaged, lost, and outdated books.
Support digital library resources and online databases, where applicable.
Prepare regular library reports and maintain documentation.
Ensure cleanliness, proper arrangement, and security of library resources.

Requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Library Science or BLIS/MLIS preferred.
1–3 years of experience in a college/university library preferred.
Good knowledge of library management and cataloguing systems.
Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in MS Office.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
Ability to work independently and coordinate with students, faculty, and administration.

Key Skills

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
