Position: Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) – Supply Chain Management & Logistics (BESS)

Reporting To: Manager – SCM & Logistics / Head SCM
Location: Project Sites / Corporate Office
Job Purpose
To support Supply Chain Management and Logistics activities for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects by ensuring timely procurement, inventory control, material planning, transportation coordination, vendor management, and on-time delivery of project materials. The role provides exposure to end-to-end supply chain operations in renewable energy and energy storage projects.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain & Procurement Support
- Assist in procurement planning and material requirement tracking for BESS projects.
- Support RFQ preparation, vendor communication, bid comparison, and purchase order follow-up.
- Coordinate with suppliers for timely dispatch and delivery of materials.
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Maintain procurement records, contracts, and supplier databases.
Logistics & Transportation Management
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics for battery containers, PCS, transformers, EMS, SCADA equipment, cables, and balance-of-system materials.
- Track shipments and ensure timely delivery to project sites.
- Assist in transportation planning, route optimization, and freight cost analysis.
- Coordinate with logistics service providers, freight forwarders, and transporters.
- Support customs clearance and documentation activities for imported materials.
Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Monitor inventory levels and material availability.
- Support warehouse operations including receiving, storage, issuance, and stock reconciliation.
- Maintain inventory records in ERP/SAP systems.
- Assist in cycle counting and inventory accuracy improvement initiatives.
- Identify excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with Engineering, Projects, Procurement, Quality, and Site Teams to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
- Track critical materials against project schedules and highlight shortages.
- Support material planning aligned with project execution timelines.
- Participate in project review meetings and prepare logistics status reports.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare SCM dashboards and logistics performance reports.
- Analyze transportation costs, inventory turnover, supplier performance, and delivery KPIs.
- Support cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.
- Generate MIS reports for management review.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain shipping documents, invoices, packing lists, GRNs, and logistics records.
- Support audit activities and document control processes.
Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Production, or Supply Chain Engineering.
- 0–1 year experience (Freshers eligible).
- Internship exposure in SCM, Logistics, Procurement, Manufacturing, Renewable Energy, or EPC projects preferred.
