Role Purpose
The Dean – School of Management shall provide strategic, academic, and administrative leadership to the School of Management and ensure excellence in teaching, research, innovation, industry engagement, accreditation, and institutional growth. The role involves driving academic quality, strengthening industry partnerships, promoting research culture, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Key Responsibilities1. Academic Leadership & Program Management
- Lead and manage academic programs including BBA, MBA, Executive Programs, Ph.D., and other management-related offerings.
- Develop and review curriculum aligned with industry trends, NEP requirements, outcome-based education, and global standards.
- Introduce new specializations and value-added programs in emerging domains such as Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurship, AI in Business, Finance, HR Analytics, and Supply Chain Management.
- Ensure effective academic delivery, assessments, examinations, and quality assurance processes.
- Drive academic excellence and student learning outcomes.
2. Research, Innovation & Consultancy
- Promote research culture through publications, consultancy projects, case studies, patents, funded research, and industry projects.
- Encourage faculty research in reputed journals and conferences.
- Facilitate consultancy assignments and executive development programs.
- Establish research centres, incubation initiatives, and entrepreneurship activities.
3. Accreditation, Rankings & Compliance
- Lead accreditation initiatives including NAAC, NBA, AACSB, ACBSP, NIRF and other quality frameworks where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with UGC, AICTE, NEP, university regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Oversee documentation, audits, inspections, and quality assurance activities.
- Monitor institutional performance indicators and ranking parameters.
4. Faculty Leadership & Development
- Lead faculty recruitment, induction, mentoring, performance evaluation, and succession planning.
- Encourage FDPs, MDPs, workshops, certifications, and international exposure.
- Build a collaborative and research-oriented academic environment.
- Establish faculty KPIs and monitor departmental performance.
5. Industry Engagement & Corporate Relations
- Develop strategic collaborations with corporates, industries, chambers of commerce, and professional bodies.
- Facilitate internships, live projects, placements, industry visits, and guest lectures.
- Strengthen placement initiatives and employer engagement.
- Promote executive education, corporate training, and industry-sponsored programs.
6. Student Development & Placement
- Oversee student progression, mentoring, employability, and placement outcomes.
- Encourage entrepreneurship, innovation, business competitions, and leadership development.
- Support student clubs, conferences, seminars, and professional development activities.
- Address student grievances and academic matters.
7. Administration & Strategic Planning
- Prepare annual plans, budgets, and growth strategies for the School.
- Ensure effective utilization of resources, infrastructure, and academic facilities.
- Participate in university committees and strategic decision-making forums.
- Drive admissions growth, program expansion, and institutional development initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria
- Ph.D. in Management / Business Administration / Commerce / relevant discipline.
- Master’s Degree in Management (MBA / PGDM) with strong academic credentials.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in teaching, research, industry, or academic administration.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience as Dean / Director / Professor / HOD / Principal.
- Strong research profile with publications in reputed journals.
- Experience in accreditation, rankings, industry engagement, and institutional development preferred.
