Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Transport Planner to manage daily transport operations and ensure smooth coordination of haulage activities. The role involves route planning, driver allocation, load management, and operational coordination to maximize vehicle utilization and maintain service efficiency.
The ideal candidate should be highly organized, capable of working in a fast-paced environment, and confident in coordinating with drivers, internal teams, customers, and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage transport operations for the upcoming 24 hours to ensure timely execution of scheduled routes.
- Optimize route planning by minimizing empty runs and maximizing vehicle utilization.
- Conduct operational checks and system reviews to ensure all transport tasks are accurately scheduled and completed.
- Monitor route performance and identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost efficiency.
- Allocate company and agency drivers for daily transport operations.
- Review previous day operations for route accuracy, efficiency, and driver performance.
- Coordinate with the Operations/Cabin team to ensure complete route coverage.
- Arrange additional drivers through agency partners whenever required.
- Ensure adequate driver availability for planned deliveries and haulage activities.
- Book and manage customer loads to improve route efficiency and reduce empty mileage.
- Maintain accurate transport records and operational updates in the system.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of transport planning and logistics operations
- Excellent route planning and scheduling skills
- Good communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to work effectively with drivers, agencies, customers, and internal teams
- Strong attention to detail and operational accuracy
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle fast-paced operations
- Proficiency in MS Excel and transport management systems is preferred
Experience Required
- 1–3+ years of experience in transport planning, logistics, or haulage operations
Working Days & Shift Details
- Working Days: 5.5 days per week
- Probation Period: 3 months
- During probation, the employee will be required to work 6 days a week
- Shift Pattern: Rotational shifts
