We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in APAC at Chennai, India.
Job Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data, to lead and enhance the quality of the Master Data & Billing (MDB) processes as well as controlling related requests conducted at the SSC Chennai, and to coordinate and ensure the continuity of exceptional service delivery for all stakeholders.
Your tasks:
- Lead and manage a comprehensive range of Master Data, Billing and Controlling activities in daily operations. This includes Billing processes from receiving underlying billing data to invoice posting and Master Data processes from receiving data to correct set-up and distribution across finance systems.
- Ensure the high-quality and timely delivery of data for the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the supported group companies under the prescribed guidelines and accounting standards.
- Work in collaboration with functional teams to ensure all controls (ICS/CRISP) are performed, assessed, closed, and remediated in timely manner.
- Identify and implement any process improvement including effectiveness of existing policies and propose enhancements when necessary.
- Coordinate the transition of new activities between global teams (DE to IN).
- Responsible for dealing with external/statutory auditors as and when required.
- Periodically review manpower needs and back-up plans for MDB & Controlling team to ensure seamless delivery to business partners.
- Back-up & support team members as and when needed, showing monitoring abilities as well as management and motivation of the team members.
- Prepare, manage, and sustain supervisory and quality review / verification of process SOPs.
- Manage team performance, discipline and deliverables, provide guidance and support when required.
- Report on team efficiency management to the Location Manager.
- Drive and participate in professional projects, including standardization, digitization and automation initiatives.
- Quality / Duplication checks
- Ensure Lease/LEAP Register maintenance is as per the DHL Group Policy and Systems.
- SPOC for all MDB-related issues for global Business Divisions.
Your profile:
Education Level
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent experience/qualification. Professional Certification in Accounting/Finance is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, including the ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights, are required.
- Adaptability and a willingness to learn, especially in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
Experience Level
- Minimum 4 years of Master Data Management experience in a large MNC, with at least 2 years in supervisory or management role.
- Experience in manage and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) within the finance department.
- Proficient in SAP S4 Hana (esp. MDG)
- Demonstrate strong teamwork by actively engaging with team members, sharing knowledge, and providing support where necessary.
- Experience in directly supervising a substantial team of 4 or more members within the cluster or country
