Librarian Assistant – Job Description

Organization: Lzebra Public School

Position Title

Librarian Assistant

Job Summary

Lzebra Public School is seeking a responsible, organized, and enthusiastic Librarian Assistant to support the daily operations of the school library. The candidate will assist students and teachers in accessing library resources, maintain records, organize books and materials, and help create a positive reading environment within the school.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in managing day-to-day library activities.
Issue and receive books, magazines, and other learning materials.
Maintain library records, catalogues, and student borrowing data.
Arrange books and materials systematically on shelves.
Support students and staff in locating books and reference materials.
Ensure discipline and a quiet atmosphere in the library.
Help organize reading programs, book fairs, and library events.
Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of library resources.
Assist in inventory checking and stock verification of books.
Operate basic computer systems and library software if required.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Library Science preferred.
Minimum Higher Secondary/Graduate qualification.
Basic computer knowledge.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work with students and staff in a professional manner.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of library management systems.
Passion for reading and education.
Attention to detail and record-keeping ability.
Friendly and cooperative attitude.

Experience

Freshers may apply.
Prior experience in a school library will be an added advantage.
