Blockchain Engineer (Solana)

Location: Remote / Hybrid
Experience: 5+ Years
Employment Type: Contract / Full-Time (as applicable)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Blockchain Engineer (Solana) to design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance blockchain infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Solana development using Rust and Anchor, along with the ability to understand and re-implement existing Ethereum/Solidity-based token logic on Solana while preserving business and economic behavior.

You will collaborate closely with backend, product, infrastructure, and security teams to build custodial wallet systems, token lifecycle services, transaction ledgers, and security controls that power institutional-grade blockchain products.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and optimize Solana smart contracts (programs) using Rust and the Anchor Framework.
Re-architect and migrate existing Ethereum/Solidity token contracts and workflows to Solana while maintaining functional parity and token economics.
Build and manage custodial wallet infrastructure, including wallet provisioning, lifecycle management, and transaction orchestration.
Develop token minting, redemption, transfer, and settlement services.
Design and maintain transaction ledger, reconciliation, and audit systems with strong consistency guarantees.
Integrate blockchain infrastructure with institutional custody and key-management solutions such as BitGo, Fireblocks, or similar providers.
Build monitoring, dashboards, and alerting systems for wallet activity, token operations, and on-chain events.
Implement security controls including audit logging, transaction traceability, fraud prevention mechanisms, rate limiting, and access controls.
Conduct code reviews, security reviews, and testing of both on-chain and off-chain components.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture, technical standards, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Proven production experience building and deploying applications on the Solana blockchain.
Strong proficiency in Rust and the Anchor Framework.
Working knowledge of Solidity and EVM-based smart contracts for understanding and migrating existing Ethereum applications.
Deep understanding of Solana architecture, including:
Accounts model
Program Derived Addresses (PDAs)
SPL Tokens
Cross-Program Invocations (CPIs)
Transaction lifecycle and execution model
Hands-on experience with custodial wallet systems and institutional key management solutions.
Experience integrating with custody providers such as BitGo, Fireblocks, or equivalent platforms.
Strong understanding of transaction ledger, reconciliation, settlement, and audit systems.
Solid knowledge of cryptographic principles, blockchain security, and smart contract vulnerabilities.
Experience developing off-chain services using TypeScript/Node.js.
Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and modern software development practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in fintech, digital assets, payments, or regulated financial environments.
Familiarity with:
KYC/AML workflows
Travel Rule compliance
Compliance reporting
Financial audit requirements
Experience with HSMs (Hardware Security Modules) and enterprise key-management systems.
Knowledge of blockchain analytics, fraud detection, and risk monitoring systems.
Experience scaling high-throughput blockchain applications and transaction-processing infrastructure.
