The Meghalaya Sales Mission

We are looking for an aggressive, field-driven Field Sales Manager to take charge of our commercial expansion and volume generation across Shillong and the broader Meghalaya market. This is a hardcore, revenue-focused role designed for a field general who loves the hunt. With zero pre-existing infrastructure or legacy accounts in this territory, your sole mandate is to build our commercial footprint entirely from scratch—cold-canvassing local wholesale hubs, securing key regional stockists, and driving aggressive direct-to-retail sales. You will single-handedly launch and scale market share for Bitly (hygiene essentials), Tara's (breakfast lines), Himalayan Heat (multigrain snacks), and Cool It (beverages).

Core Responsibilities & Autonomous Revenue Generation

Greenfield Market Discovery & Mapping: Systematically scour commercial bazaars, wholesale markets, and high-footfall retail streets across Shillong and surrounding feeder towns to map out unexploited grocery, chemist, and general merchant counters.
Wholesaler & Stockist Procurement: Hunt down high-influence regional traders and wholesale syndicates who have never partnered with us, pitching our commercial model to secure initial primary bulk orders and anchor local distribution.
Direct-to-Retail Execution: Walk the ground daily to pitch store owners face-to-face, overcoming initial market entry resistance with sharp product presentations and securing first-time trial orders.
Pipeline & Sales Velocity Ownership: Take absolute accountability for your territory’s primary and secondary sales targets. Build your sales pipeline from cold-calls, ensure consistent order-to-delivery loops, and manage recurring weekly replenishment cycles.
App-Driven Field Discipline: Utilize our mobile sales platform to log every self-acquired order, map new store locations, and track daily route conversion efficiency in real time.
Tactical Reporting & Growth Strategy: Deliver straightforward, performance-driven weekly conversion metrics, local market insights, and competitive feedback directly to leadership to maximize regional rollout speed.

Candidate Specifications & Qualifications

Experience Profile: 3 to 7 years of aggressive field sales and distribution management experience, specializing in cold-canvas new territory expansion, retail footprint setup, or direct sales scaling within the FMCG or packaged goods sector.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or any relevant discipline.
Critical Skills: Unyielding persistence, high resilience to field rejection, exceptional on-the-ground negotiation power, and professional fluency in English, Hindi, and Khasi/Garo or local regional languages.
Mobility & Logistics: Must own a reliable vehicle with a valid driving license and be fully prepared for extensive, independent daily travel across Shillong and surrounding hill-terrain transit routes.
