Site Engineer / Project Engineer - Civil | Residential Apartment Projects

Gandhimathi Constructions is looking for an experienced Site Engineer / Project Engineer to manage and monitor residential apartment projects from execution stage to handover. The role requires strong site supervision skills, quality focus, contractor coordination, and the ability to ensure timely completion of works as per drawings, specifications, and project schedules. The ideal candidate should be capable of handling day-to-day site activities independently and maintaining high standards in execution, safety, and workmanship. Gandhimathi Constructions has been delivering residential projects since 1999 with a strong focus on quality, timely completion, and customer satisfaction.

Qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering
Experience: 3+ years in apartment / residential building execution
Location: New Perungalathur, Chennai

Roles and Responsibilities

Supervise and manage day-to-day site execution activities for residential apartment projects.
Ensure civil works are carried out as per approved drawings, structural details, specifications, and quality standards.
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, masons, bar benders, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, tile workers, painters, and other site teams.
Plan weekly and daily site activities to achieve project milestones on time.
Monitor shuttering, reinforcement, concreting, block work, plastering, flooring, waterproofing, finishing works, and handover activities.
Check measurements, work progress, and material consumption at site.
Ensure proper usage of construction materials and reduce wastage.
Verify line, level, alignment, dimensions, and overall workmanship during each stage of execution.
Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP teams, and suppliers for smooth execution.
Maintain site records such as daily progress reports, labour reports, material inward records, and work completion updates.
Follow up for timely procurement and availability of materials required at site.
Ensure all works are completed as per project schedule and escalate delays proactively.
Conduct quality checks and identify corrective actions for defects or non-conforming works.
Supervise finishing and final-stage works to ensure neat delivery and customer satisfaction.
Support apartment handover process, snag rectification, and closure of pending works.
Ensure site safety practices are followed by all labour and contractors.
Attend client walkthroughs when required and support issue resolution during handover stage.
Work closely with management to achieve quality, delivery, and cost-control targets.

Candidate Profile

Hands-on experience in residential building / apartment construction.
Strong knowledge of site execution, finishing quality, and contractor coordination.
Ability to read architectural and structural drawings.
Good understanding of RCC, masonry, plastering, flooring, waterproofing, and finishing works.
Ability to handle multiple gangs / multiple activities at site.
Good communication and reporting skills.
Practical, responsible, and result-oriented approach.
Preference for candidates with experience in low-rise apartment projects.
