Role
To lead end-to-end operations of the small agricultural machinery business by ensuring excellence in manufacturing, supply chain, quality, inventory management, cost control, and delivery performance while supporting business growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production & Manufacturing Operations
- Plan and execute monthly, weekly, and daily production schedules.
- Ensure achievement of production targets with optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
- Improve productivity, OEE, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor shop-floor performance and remove operational bottlenecks.
2. Supply Chain & Procurement Coordination
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery adherence, and inventory levels.
- Reduce material shortages and production disruptions.
- Support vendor development and localization initiatives.
3. Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Maintain optimum inventory levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Improve inventory turnover and reduce working capital.
- Implement cycle counting and inventory accuracy processes.
- Ensure effective warehouse management and material traceability.
4. Quality Management
- Ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Drive reduction of customer complaints and internal defects.
- Coordinate with Quality, Design, and Supplier Quality teams for corrective actions.
- Implement preventive quality systems and process controls.
5. Cost Management
- Monitor manufacturing costs and identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Improve material yield and reduce wastage.
- Lead value engineering and productivity improvement projects.
- Support annual budgeting and cost control initiatives.
6. New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Coordinate with R&D and Manufacturing Engineering for smooth product launches.
- Ensure production readiness for new agricultural machines and EV products.
- Manage pilot builds and production ramp-up activities.
7. Team Leadership
- Lead production, stores, planning, and logistics teams.
- Develop team capability through coaching and training.
- Establish a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews and succession planning.
8. Customer & Dealer Support
- Ensure timely dispatch and delivery to dealers and customers.
- Support field issue resolution and warranty improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with Sales and Service teams to improve customer satisfaction.
9. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
- Promote a zero-accident culture.
- Maintain ISO and other relevant management system compliance.

Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- MBA/PGDM in Operations Management preferred.
Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in agricultural machinery, farm equipment, automotive components
