Job Summary
The Emergency and Critical Care Technologist is responsible for assisting doctors and nurses in providing immediate and critical care to emergency patients. The role includes monitoring patients, operating emergency medical equipment, supporting life-saving procedures, and ensuring efficient patient care in emergency and intensive care units.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist doctors during emergency and critical care procedures.
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, and ECG.
- Operate and maintain critical care equipment including ventilators, defibrillators, monitors, and infusion pumps.
- Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) and assist in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Assist in trauma care, cardiac emergencies, and accident cases.
- Prepare emergency treatment rooms and ICU setups.
- Maintain patient records and treatment documentation.
- Support infection control and patient safety protocols.
- Coordinate with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare staff during emergencies.
- Ensure emergency equipment and medicines are readily available.
- Transport critically ill patients safely within the hospital when required.
Qualification
- B.Sc in Emergency and Critical Care Technology from a recognized institution.
- BLS/ACLS certification preferred.
Skills Required
- Knowledge of emergency and critical care procedures.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic knowledge of ICU and emergency equipment.
- Quick decision-making and patient handling skills.
Experience
- Freshers or experienced candidates can apply.
- Hospital emergency or ICU experience is an added advantage.
