The Female Boarding House Parent plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, well-being, discipline, and holistic development of students residing in the boarding house. The role requires a high level of commitment, emotional intelligence, and leadership, acting as a caregiver, mentor, and role model for students.
Oversee and manage students’ daily routines, beginning with wake-up supervision at 5:30 AM.
Ensure students are prepared and punctual for academic sessions and activities.
Escort and monitor student movement across classes, co-curricular, and school events.
Reinforce adherence to structured schedules and routines.
Supervise students during meal times, ensuring proper dining etiquette.
Promote healthy eating habits, hygiene, and personal care.
Provide emotional support by addressing personal, social, and behavioural concerns.
Build strong, trusting relationships with students.
Supervise housekeeping staff to maintain clean, hygienic, and well-organized dormitories.
Conduct daily room inspections and enforce cleanliness standards.
Uphold and implement boarding rules, discipline, and behavioural expectations.
Ensure the physical, emotional, and psychological safety of students.
Act as a mentor and pastoral caregiver, fostering a respectful and inclusive environment.
Manage and mediate student conflicts and behavioural issues.
Coordinate with the school nurse and administration for medical needs and emergencies.
Ensure timely return of students to the boarding house in the evening.
Enforce lights-out policy at 10:00 PM.
Conduct regular night checks to ensure safety and discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Hostel Warden / Boarding House Parent / Residential Caregiver.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor adolescent students.
High levels of responsibility, empathy, patience, and integrity.
Willingness to reside on campus and work in a residential school environment.
Background in student welfare.
Experience in international or boarding school settings.
Certification in First Aid / Basic Healthcare / Child Protection.
