JOB DESCRIPTION
ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Compliance Specialist / Employee Relations Specialist, you will serve as the organizations primary expert for HR policy governance, Process Excellence, statutory compliance, and workplace conduct management. You will lead complex employee relations and compliance cases through structured investigations, rigorous fact-finding, evidence analysis, and well-documented recommendations. As the owner of all HR and workplace policies, you will provide expert guidance on disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans (PIPs), terminations, labour code requirements, DPDP obligations, and regulatory changes. You will also oversee POSH governance, Code of Conduct adherence, investigation interviews, and end-to-end compliance processes ensuring fairness, confidentiality, due-process discipline, and audit-ready documentation.
In addition to case leadership, you will drive process excellence by strengthening compliance frameworks, refining policy language, enabling leader capability, and improving ER governance across the Global Technology Center. You will partner closely with internal functions to ensure payroll policy governance and statutory compliance are consistently met, supported by strong process controls and documentation standards. This role demands exceptional judgement, legal and regulatory awareness, and the ability to navigate sensitive situations while delivering consistent, legally sound, and policy-aligned outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivery and Execution
Lead assigned ER and compliance cases from intake to closure with structured investigation methodology, detailed fact-finding, and evidence-based recommendations
Conduct interviews using investigation-grade questioning techniques and maintain time-stamped, defensible records of statements and findings
Manage POSH-related processes including IC coordination, statutory timelines, documentation control, and recommendation tracking.
Apply disciplinary frameworks, prepare formal notices, support enquiry processes, and draft outcome documentation aligned with policy and compliance standards
Maintain SLA discipline, case categorisation accuracy, and complete, audit-ready documentation for all cases
Prepare ER and compliance reports covering cycle times, substantiation rates, case severity mix, recurrence trends, and risk insights
Escalate sensitive, legal-exposure or regulatory-risk cases with objective evidence and detailed rationale
Ensure compliance with DPDP/GDPR through secure evidence handling, access control, and retention policies
Support and Enablement
Maintain investigation toolkits such as interview guides, evidence matrices, decision grids, and case templates
Conduct awareness sessions on Code of Conduct, POSH responsibilities, compliance expectations, and ER processes
Identify recurring themes and recommend improvements to policy language, manager training, or process controls
Collaborate with HR Ops, HRIS, and Data Privacy teams to ensure ER and compliance data accuracy, secure storage, and dashboard maintenance
Prepare for internal and external audits by ensuring case files are complete, traceable, and compliant with documentation standards
Support continuous improvement through case taxonomy refinement, process updates, and compliance-readiness activities
JOB REQUIREMENT
Required Experience
710 years of experience in Compliance, Employee Relations, workplace investigations, or HR conduct management, handling sensitive, complex, and high-severity cases
Experience working in a GCC or multinational environment, with exposure to Indian employee relations frameworks including Tamil Nadu specific laws, statutory compliance requirements, and audit-ready HR documentation standards
Essential Skills
Adept at leading end-to-end ER and compliance investigations with structured intake, interview planning, fact-finding, evidence analysis, and clear recommendations
Proficient in applying organizational policies for Code of Conduct breaches, POSH requirements, grievance management, performance/behaviour cases, and anti-retaliation safeguards
Practiced with case documentation standards including chronologies, evidence matrices, decision rationales, closure notes, and complete audit-ready files
Demonstrates strong attention to statutory and regulatory requirements, including the POSH Act, Shops & Establishments regulations, applicable labour codes and laws, and data-handling obligations under DPDP and GDPR
Able to interpret legal and regulatory language accurately and translate complex statutory requirements into clear, practical guidance for leaders and stakeholders
Skilled at producing ER dashboards, trend analyses, heatmaps, and risk reports that highlight behavioural patterns and systemic issues
Conscientious about confidentiality, due-process integrity, information security, and consistent application of disciplinary frameworks
Desired Skills
Experience handling high-severity cases involving ethics violations, misconduct, or regulatory exposure
Familiarity with whistle-blower and ethics hotline operations, including triage and escalation
Knowledge of conflict-resolution, mediation, and restorative discussions
Understanding of internal controls, process compliance, and audit sampling requirements
Ability to draft policy, FAQs, and manager-facing ER guidance material
