Key Responsibilities

Prepare and set up laboratory equipment, tools, and materials before practical sessions.
Assist faculty, instructors, or engineers during laboratory experiments and demonstrations.
Maintain, clean, calibrate, and organize laboratory equipment and instruments.
Monitor the proper usage of machines and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Perform routine inspections and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance requirements.
Manage inventory of laboratory consumables, tools, and spare parts, and maintain stock records.
Assist in fabricating simple mechanical components and prototypes using workshop machines and hand tools.
Keep the laboratory clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.
Maintain documentation of laboratory activities, equipment logs, and maintenance schedules.
Support students and trainees by providing guidance on the safe operation of laboratory equipment.

Required Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
Fresh graduates or candidates with 0–2 years of experience in a mechanical laboratory or workshop environment are encouraged to apply.
Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment, workshop practices, and measuring instruments.
Familiarity with machine tools such as lathe, milling, drilling, grinding, and welding equipment is an advantage.
Understanding of laboratory safety procedures and maintenance practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with CNC machines, CAD software, or 3D printing equipment.
Knowledge of calibration procedures and preventive maintenance.
Certification in workshop safety or industrial safety practices is an added advantage.
