Job Description – Bakery ChefPosition: Bakery Chef / Bakery Production Chef

Department: Bakery Production
Experience: 2–5 years preferred
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Bakery Chef to manage our bakery production operations. The candidate will be responsible for preparing and producing a variety of bakery products while maintaining consistent taste, quality, hygiene, presentation, and production standards.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in bakery production, good knowledge of recipes and ingredients, and the ability to manage bakery staff and daily production efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and manage daily bakery production based on sales and store requirements.
Prepare and supervise production of bakery products such as cakes, breads, buns, cookies, puffs, pastries, biscuits and other bakery items.
Ensure consistency in taste, texture, size, appearance and quality of all products.
Follow standard recipes and maintain proper measurements and production procedures.
Develop and improve existing bakery recipes and introduce new products when required.
Maintain proper records of recipes, ingredient quantities, production quantities and wastage.
Monitor the quality and freshness of raw materials such as flour, butter, sugar, cream, yeast, eggs and other ingredients.
Coordinate with the purchase/store team to ensure timely availability of required raw materials.
Ensure proper storage and handling of bakery ingredients and finished products.
Supervise bakery helpers and production workers and allocate daily work.
Train staff on proper bakery techniques, hygiene, food handling and production procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the bakery production area, equipment and utensils.
Ensure proper operation, cleaning and basic maintenance of bakery machinery and equipment.
Minimize production wastage and improve production efficiency.
Follow food safety and company quality standards at all times.
Coordinate with the Production Manager / Factory Manager regarding production planning and requirements.
Ensure products are prepared and dispatched according to the required schedule.
Identify production issues and take corrective action promptly.
Maintain proper stock rotation and follow FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
Report daily production, wastage, quality issues and other important matters to management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

2–5 years of relevant experience in bakery production preferred.
Strong practical knowledge of bakery products and production techniques.
Good understanding of ingredients, measurements, baking temperatures and production processes.
Ability to follow and maintain standard recipes.
Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices.
Ability to manage and train bakery production staff.
Good time management and production planning skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistent product quality.
Basic knowledge of inventory, wastage and production records is an advantage.

Preferred Candidate

Experience in a commercial bakery, sweets factory, food manufacturing unit or bakery chain will be preferred.
Candidates with experience in large-scale bakery production will have an added advantage.
Knowledge of new bakery product development and recipe standardization is desirable.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
