Job Overview
The Associate Manager – Fixed Income Operations will lead a team of Team Leaders and their respective analyst groups within the Reference Data – New Issuance function. The role is accountable for the end-to-end performance of Fixed Income operations, including driving data quality, SLA adherence, and operational excellence across the team. The Associate Manager will act as a strategic people leader, developing Team Leaders, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and championing continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate combines deep Fixed Income domain expertise with strong managerial acumen and a collaborative leadership style.
Key Responsibilities
People & Team Leadership
- Directly manage and develop a team of Team Leaders, providing strategic direction, coaching, and performance oversight
- Set SMART goals for Team Leaders and ensure cascading alignment to analyst-level objectives
- Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and structured career development discussions with direct reports
- Oversee staffing, shift coverage, leave management, and team engagement across all reporting teams
- Foster a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous learning
- Drive succession planning and talent development within the team
Operations & Quality Management
- Oversee day-to-day Fixed Income operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of reference data
- Monitor and govern production and quality KPIs at team and individual level; escalate and resolve issues proactively
- Review and approve SOPs, workflows, and process documentation maintained by Team Leaders
- Support onboarding of new vendors, data feeds, and data sources, ensuring smooth integration into operations
- Provide escalation support and subject matter expertise for complex Fixed Income queries
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Serve as the senior point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on Fixed Income operations matters
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding and anticipating client-specific requirements
- Collaborate closely with global, product, technology, and operations teams to drive cross-functional outcomes
- Represent the team in senior forums, business reviews, and client discussions
Process Improvement & Technology
- Identify operational bottlenecks and partner with technology teams to design and implement scalable solutions
- Lead and champion process improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma or equivalent methodologies
- Oversee preparation of technology requirements, test cases, and UAT coordination
- Track and report daily, monthly, and quarterly operational metrics to senior leadership
Communication & Governance
- Drive regular team huddles and leadership forums to communicate updates, priorities, and strategic changes
- Ensure consistent floor support coverage and real-time resolution of operational issues across all teams
- Coordinate workload distribution and shift planning across multiple teams in alignment with business needs
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field
- Experience in Fixed Income operations, with at least 2 years in a people management role
- Demonstrated experience managing in managing people.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts and engage in early/late client calls as required

- Deep Fixed Income domain expertise (bonds, structured products, reference data)
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal – at all levels of the organisation
- Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Office suite proficiency
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
