Job Summary
The Head – Operations will be responsible for end-to-end operational management of the business, ensuring seamless coordination across Sales, Design, Commercial, Procurement, Production, Projects, Logistics, Installation, Service and Customer Support.The role will have overall ownership of business execution, revenue, cost control, profitability, customer satisfaction, team performance, government liaison, documentation and operational excellence, ensuring that business commitments are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Business & Branch Operations
- Take complete ownership of end-to-end operations from order confirmation to final project handover.
- Drive overall branch performance covering revenue, cost, productivity, customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Ensure effective utilization of manpower, infrastructure, machinery, materials and other resources.
- Maintain accountability, discipline and performance standards across all operational functions.
2. Sales, Commercial & Project Coordination
- Work closely with Sales and Commercial teams to review order pipeline, customer commitments, commercial requirements and project feasibility.
- Ensure smooth handover of confirmed orders from Sales to Operations with clear scope, timelines, cost and resource requirements.
- Oversee project planning, execution, monitoring and handover within approved timelines, budgets and profitability targets.
- Identify execution risks and ensure timely corrective actions.
3. Production & Manufacturing Management
- Align production capacity and schedules with project requirements and delivery commitments.
- Monitor productivity, quality, capacity utilization and manufacturing efficiency.
- Ensure optimum utilization of CNC, Beam Saw, Edge Banding, Multi-Boring and related resources.
- Reduce production delays, rework, rejection and material wastage.
4. Procurement, Inventory & Vendor Management
- Ensure timely procurement and availability of materials as per project and production requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and control stock-outs, excess inventory and material wastage.
- Monitor vendor performance, quality, delivery timelines and commercial commitments.
- Ensure effective material planning from order confirmation through production and installation.
5. Logistics, Installation & Project Execution
- Oversee logistics planning, transportation, site delivery and material movement to ensure timely project execution.
- Monitor installation schedules, manpower deployment and site progress.
- Ensure installation is completed as per approved drawings, timelines and quality standards.
- Minimize transportation delays, material damages, installation issues and project rework.
6. Customer Experience, Service & Snag Management
- Take ownership of critical customer escalations related to delivery, quality, installation and service.
- Oversee end-to-end service and snag management, ensuring timely allocation, follow-up and closure.
- Monitor customer complaints, warranty issues and pending handovers to ensure timely resolution.
- Ensure project closure after customer acceptance and completion of agreed deliverables.
7. Government Liaison & Documentation Management
- Coordinate with Government departments, authorities and external agencies for operational, project and statutory matters.
- Manage government-related documentation, approvals, submissions, tenders, licences and statutory records as applicable.
- Ensure timely submission, renewal and follow-up of required documents and approvals.
- Maintain proper records, trackers and documentation for compliance, audit readiness and easy retrieval.
8. Cost Control, P&L & Business Performance
- Drive operational contribution towards revenue, profitability and P&L performance.
- Monitor project margins, operational costs, budgets and business expenses.
- Identify cost leakages and implement corrective actions to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Present regular business, financial and operational performance reports to the Managing Director.
9. Team Leadership & Manpower Management
- Lead, develop and manage cross-functional Operations teams with clear KRAs, KPIs and accountability.
- Plan manpower requirements based on business volume, project pipeline and operational needs.
- Build a strong second line of leadership through training, mentoring and performance management.
- Foster a culture of ownership, teamwork, discipline and performance.
10. Process, SOP, MIS & Compliance Management
- Develop and implement SOPs, workflows, checklists and operational controls across functions.
- Establish and monitor MIS and dashboards covering orders, projects, production, inventory, dispatch, installation, service, revenue and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, quality standards and safety practices.
- Identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency and accountability.
11. Strategic & Business Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, profitability, customer experience and operational scalability.
- Develop operational plans aligned with business growth, capacity and expansion objectives.
- Evaluate new processes, systems and technologies to improve operational efficiency.
- Support the Managing Director in strategic decisions related to business growth, manpower, infrastructure and operational expansion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management or a related field.
- MBA / Master’s degree in Operations or Business Management will be an added advantage.
- Certification in Project Management, Operations, Lean / Six Sigma or Supply Chain will be preferred.
Experience
- 15+ years of overall experience with 5–7 years in a senior operations, business unit, branch or project operations leadership role.
- Experience in modular furniture, furniture manufacturing, interior fit-out, turnkey projects, construction or related industries with exposure to end-to-end operations, cost control and team management.

Pay: ₹75,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
