Full job description

A degree college librarian manages the institution's physical and digital resources, supports faculty curriculum needs, and trains students in information literacy. They oversee daily circulation, maintain library databases, and ensure the facility serves as a dynamic academic and research hub. [1, 2]Key Responsibilities

Collection Development: Collaborate with faculty to acquire textbooks, journals, reference materials, and e-resources aligned with the college curriculum. [1, 2]

Library Administration: Manage the library budget, supervise library assistants, and oversee daily circulation, cataloging, and shelving operations. [1, 2]
Digital Management: Maintain the library’s online public access catalog (OPAC), digital repositories, and subscription databases. [1, 2]
Compliance & Reporting: Compile library usage statistics and generate reports for audits and institutional accreditations (e.g., NAAC or UGC mandates). [1]

Core Requirements

Education: A Master's Degree in Library Science or Information Science. In many regions, passing the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Eligibility Test (SET) is required for faculty-level positions.
