A Quantity Surveyor (Civil) is responsible for estimating construction costs, preparing quantity take-offs, managing project budgets, and monitoring costs throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures that civil and building projects are completed within budget while maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates from drawings and specifications.
- Measure quantities for civil and building works such as concrete, masonry, plastering, flooring, reinforcement, and finishing works.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), rate analysis, and cost reports.
- Monitor project costs and track budget performance.
- Verify contractor and subcontractor bills and payment claims.
- Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and project managers.
- Review drawings and specifications using AutoCAD(must).
- Prepare and maintain project documentation and reports using Microsoft Excel.
- Assist in tendering, procurement, and contract administration.
- Conduct site visits to verify work progress and quantities executed.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, spreadsheets, cost calculations, reporting).
- Knowledge of AutoCAD for reading and interpreting construction drawings.
- Strong understanding of Quantity Surveying principles and measurement techniques.
- Knowledge of building construction works, including RCC, masonry, finishing, and infrastructure works.
- Ability to prepare BOQs, estimates, and cost analyses.
- Good analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
- 7 years of experience as Quantity Surveyor / Billing Engineer on residential building projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in quantity surveying, estimation, or construction cost management is preferred.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
