Job Summary
The Medical Transcriptionist is responsible for accurately transcribing, editing, and formatting medical reports, dictated notes, discharge summaries, operative reports, consultation notes, and other healthcare documentation. The role requires excellent listening, typing, language, and medical terminology skills to ensure timely and accurate medical records.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe medical dictations from doctors and healthcare professionals into accurate written reports.
- Prepare and format discharge summaries, operative notes, consultation reports, and clinical documentation.
- Review and edit transcribed reports for grammar, clarity, completeness, and accuracy.
- Verify medical terminology, diagnoses, procedures, medications, and abbreviations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with hospital policies and data privacy regulations.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned transcription work.
- Coordinate with physicians and clinical departments for clarification of unclear dictations.
- Maintain and update electronic medical records as required.
- Ensure proper filing and documentation of completed reports.
- Support the Medical Records Department in documentation-related activities.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in any discipline; certification in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Proficiency in English language, grammar, and medical documentation.
- Good typing speed and computer proficiency.
- Experience in healthcare or medical transcription is preferred.

Salary
As per hospital norms and experience.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
