Sales & Business Development
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the merchandise business which includes apparel, bags, backpacks, accessories and other products made from recycled
polyester (rPoly) and sustainable materials.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to drive business growth across domestic and international markets.
- Identify, qualify and convert new business opportunities through a combination of cold outreach, networking, referrals, email campaigns, LinkedIn prospecting, industry events and in-person meetings.
- Build, manage and maintain a robust sales pipeline ensuring strong visibility into future revenue opportunities and accurate sales forecasting.
- Prospect and engage with key customer segments including corporates, brands, retailers,event management companies, gifting agencies, NGOs, educational institutions, government organizations and e-commerce platforms.
- Conduct compelling product presentations and sales pitches effectively communicating the sustainability, traceability and social impact value proposition of Plastics For Change merchandise
- Prepare customized proposals, quotations, presentations and commercial offers in line with customer requirements
- Lead commercial negotiations and successfully close deals while ensuring profitability targets are met.
Key Account Management
- Build and nurture strong long term client relationships to drive repeat business, upselling and cross-selling opportunities and customer retention. Act as the primary point of contact for all accounts ensuring exceptional customer service, high levels of customer satisfaction and sustained account growth
- Collaborate closely with design, sourcing, operations and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution of customer projects and timely delivery.
- Address customer concerns, resolve escalations promptly, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and effective resolution of issues. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities and account developments within the Hubspot CRM
system.
Market Development
- Research and identify emerging market opportunities and industry trends.
- Develop new customer segments and verticals for merchandise sales.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, and product offerings.
- Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to support business decisions.
- Participate in industry events, exhibitions, trade fairs, and networking forums.
Product & Design Coordination
- Collaborate with the design team to develop customer-specific merchandise solutions.
- Share market trends, customer preferences, and competitor insights with the design team.
- Ensure timely development and approval of product samples.
- Work with internal stakeholders to introduce new products aligned with market demand.
Sustainability & Value Proposition Selling
- Develop a strong understanding of Plastics For Change's ethical sourcing and circular economy model.
- Educate customers about the environmental and social impact of rPoly products.
- Position sustainability as a key differentiator during sales discussions.
- Promote traceability and transparency features of the supply chain to customers.
Marketing & Brand Collaboration
- Work closely with the marketing team on product launches and promotional campaigns.
- Provide customer insights and feedback to support marketing initiatives.
- Assist in creating sales collateral, presentations, and promotional materials.
- Support awareness campaigns related to sustainable merchandise and responsible sourcing.
Order Management & Execution
- Coordinate with operations, sourcing, and production teams to ensure smooth order execution.
- Monitor order status from confirmation to delivery.
- Ensure timely sampling, production, dispatch, and delivery as per customer expectations.
- Track customer requirements and ensure adherence to agreed specifications and timelines.
Reporting & Sales Operations
- Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, customer interactions, and sales activities.
- Update CRM and sales tracking systems regularly.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports.
- Monitor sales performance against targets and identify corrective actions where required.
- Forecast sales and revenue opportunities accurately.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including marketing, design, operations, sourcing, and leadership.
- Coordinate with manufacturing partners, suppliers, and external stakeholders as required.
- Build strong relationships with procurement teams, HR teams, marketing departments, and decision-makers within client organizations.
Travel & Field Sales
- Travel extensively across India to meet clients and develop business opportunities.
- Conduct face-to-face meetings, product demonstrations, and relationship-building activities.
- Represent Plastics For Change at customer sites, industry events, and business meetings.
General responsibilities:
1. Ensure professionalism at all times and demonstrate exemplary prioritization of workload skills.
2. Ensure that the PFC policies, SOPs and protocols are being adhered to at all levels of the company.
3. Ensure strict adherence to data confidentiality and security.
4. Willingness to travel frequently across PFC site locations, sometimes at short notice, including other places as per need of project or the company.
5. Work closely with the PFC team and Partners.
Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications
- Graduate with 4+ years’ of experience in corporate and institutional Sales preferably from textile background
- Experience into sustainable products sales plus fashion accessories distribution houses
- Experience of generating b2b sales from corporates, Institutions, e-com and other b2b establishments
- Proven track record of building their own pipeline of opportunities for business development and selling into medium to large accounts
- Should be able to manage expectation of the customer and supply chain stakeholders
- Go getter attitude, proactive in reaching out to the customers and pitch the relevant products
- Good networking and negotiating skills
- Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with executive level customers
- Ability to work remotely and fast turnaround time
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create results driven, team-oriented environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi.
