Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

â€¢ Manage Linux and/or Windows servers across AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS nodes, hybrid
environments).
â€¢ Perform OS-level configuration, hardening, troubleshooting, and optimization.
â€¢ Handle OS lifecycle tasks including provisioning, upgrading, and decommissioning.
â€¢ Maintain AMIs, golden images, or OS baselines for consistent deployments.
â€¢ Manage OS patching using AWS Systems Manager (SSM Patch Manager), Automation
Runbooks, or third-party tools.
â€¢ Schedule, test, and deploy patches to minimize downtime and ensure compliance.
â€¢ Remediate vulnerabilities identified by security scans (Inspector, Tenable, Qualys,
etc.).
â€¢ Maintain compliance with internal security baselines and regulatory frameworks.
â€¢ Manage AWS backup and perform daily backup and restoration on required basis.
â€¢ Monitor system health, performance, and capacity using CloudWatch, CloudTrail,
SSM, and other tools.
â€¢ Troubleshoot EC2-level issues involving CPU/memory utilization, disk/IO, networking,
and OS processes.
â€¢ Manage EBS volumes, snapshots, filesystem integrity, userdata scripts, and boot-level
issues.
â€¢ Support routine operational tasks for multi-account AWS environments
â€¢ Collaborate with DevOps, cloud engineering, and security teams for system
improvements.
â€¢ Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
â€¢ Handle log management at OS level (CloudWatch Agent / SSM Agent / OS syslogs).
â€¢ Knowledge in ticketing tools like ServiceNow and Jira.

Qualifications

SKILLS

â€¢ Require 7-12 years of technology experience.
â€¢ At least 5-7 years of experience in AWS Cloud Operations with large multinational
organisations.
â€¢ Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, SSM, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch).
â€¢ Expertise in OS patching, configuration management, and hardening.
â€¢ Familiarity with scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
â€¢ Experience troubleshooting system performance, networking, and logs.
â€¢ Strong understanding of cloud operations and ITIL/operational best practices.
â€¢ Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
â€¢ AWS certifications (e.g., AWS SysOps Administrator â€“ Associate) are highly desirable
â€¢ Having a Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate certification or Red Hat
Certified System Administrator is beneficial.
