Role Summary
We are hiring an L3 Cloud & Infrastructure Implementation Engineer to serve as a senior escalation and project implementation resource.
This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience in:
- Windows Server
- Active Directory

- Backup and disaster recovery
- Infrastructure operations
The right candidate must be able to review a technical scope, understand the requirements, create an implementation plan, complete the technical work, document the environment, and support the client after deployment.
This is not a basic help desk role. This is a hands-on L3 role for someone who can handle complex issues, cloud projects, infrastructure migrations, Microsoft 365 security, and client-facing implementation work.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as an L3 escalation engineer for complex cloud, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and infrastructure issues
- Implement technical scopes of work for Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, GCP, Intune, Defender, and infrastructure projects
- Support Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services
- Administer Microsoft Entra ID, including users, groups, roles, MFA, Conditional Access, and identity security
- Manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and tenant administration
- Deploy and manage Microsoft Intune, including MDM, MAM, compliance policies, configuration profiles, app deployment, device enrollment, and remote support
- Configure and support Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, security baselines, alerts, and remediation workflows
- Support Azure environments, including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage, VPNs, backups, identity, and Azure Virtual Desktop
- Support AWS environments, including EC2, S3, IAM, VPCs, security groups, backups, and basic cloud workloads
- Support GCP environments, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM, VPC networking, security, and backup support
- Support remote access and virtualization platforms, including RDS and Azure Virtual Desktop
- Perform server upgrades, cloud migrations, tenant migrations, endpoint hardening, and platform improvements
- Support backup and disaster recovery solutions, including backup validation, restore testing, and recovery planning
- Troubleshoot client environments across cloud, server, endpoint, identity, networking, and security layers
- Participate in P1/P2 incidents, root cause analysis, and technical remediation
- Execute technical changes following change management processes
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, SOPs, build guides, and client handoff documents
- Mentor junior engineers and help improve internal technical standards
- Work with sales, project managers, and leadership during technical discovery and project planning
- Maintain strong ticket updates, time entries, SLA compliance, and client communication
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server administration
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and hybrid identity
- Strong Microsoft 365 administration and implementation experience
- Strong Intune implementation and endpoint management experience
- Strong Microsoft Defender and endpoint security experience
- Strong Entra ID experience, including MFA and Conditional Access
- Working knowledge of Azure IaaS, networking, storage, backup, and AVD
- Working knowledge of AWS infrastructure and security basics
- Working knowledge of GCP infrastructure and security basics
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery platforms
- Experience supporting MSP, NOC, consulting, or multi-client environments
- Ability to read technical contracts, SOWs, and project requirements
- Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud and infrastructure environments
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work directly with clients in a professional manner
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Preferred Skills
- Azure Virtual Desktop design and support
- Microsoft Purview, DLP, retention, and compliance policies
- GCC or GCC High experience
- CMMC, NIST 800-171, CIS, HIPAA, or SOC 2 experience
- PowerShell scripting and automation
- Veeam, Acronis, or cloud backup platform experience
- Cisco, Fortinet, UniFi, or Barracuda troubleshooting experience
- Server hardware knowledge, including iLO, DRAC, storage, and NAS platforms
- Infrastructure or cloud migration project experience
- Experience with RMM, PSA, ITSM, and documentation tools
- AWS or GCP project implementation experience
Experience Requirements
- 7 to 10 years of hands-on IT infrastructure, cloud, or systems engineering experience
- 4+ years focused on Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, Defender, Entra ID, and client-facing implementation work
- Experience with AWS and GCP is strongly preferred
- Experience working in an MSP, consulting, NOC, or Global Support Center environment preferred
- Experience handling client-facing technical projects preferred

What Success Looks Like
Within the first 90 days, this person should be able to:
- Handle L3 escalations for Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, and endpoint issues
- Complete Microsoft 365, Intune, Defender, Azure, AWS, and GCP implementation tasks
- Review a technical scope and build an execution plan
- Produce clean documentation after every project
- Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams
- Improve technical standards, runbooks, and deployment templates
- Support junior engineers with escalations and knowledge transfer
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior hands-on engineer who understands both support operations and project implementation.
They should be comfortable troubleshooting urgent issues, but also capable of building secure client environments from the ground up.
This person should be technical, organized, client-facing, and able to take ownership of complex work without needing constant direction.
Compensation
Salary will be based on experience, certifications, communication skills, and technical ability.
