About the role
The Senior Regional Commercial Manager is responsible for leading market development and new strategic sales in an assigned territory. The position is responsible for professionally promoting all MoneyGram products to new and existing retail establishments with the goal of achieving sales growth in their respective territories.
The Senior Regional Commercial Manager is also responsible for developing and executing sales plans, coordinating efforts with territory partners in a team environment, accurately completing routine reports and being compliant with regulatory and company guidelines.

- Lead the planning and execution of MoneyGram’s strategy in India, driving revenue growth and market penetration.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities with financial institutions, fintechs, banks, mobile wallets, telecoms, new age businesses and retail partners.
- Build strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including banks, payment processors, fintechs, and retail networks.
- Manage and optimize existing principal agent partnerships to maximize business performance.
- Develop innovative go-to-market strategies to increase adoption and customer engagement and enhance MoneyGram’s competitive positioning.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of MoneyGram’s products and services & market information / intelligence.
- Proactively partner with global teams and seek support for the country through effective internal stakeholder management.
- Ensure MoneyGram operates in full compliance with all local regulatory requirements and licensing obligations.
- Act as the key representative for MoneyGram in regulatory discussions and industry forums.
- Represent MoneyGram at industry events, conferences, and forums, positioning the company as a market leader in remittances and payments.
- Act as the face of MoneyGram in India, strengthening brand presence and trust in the market.
- Think like a startup founder—identify gaps, take ownership, and drive transformational change in the business.
- Innovate and implement new ideas to solve complex problems with agility and a hands-on approach.
What you will need to be successfull
Any combination of relevant education and experience and/or related professional designations/certifications in this field is highly desirable.
Education
- Minimum Required: MBA degree in related field preferred or equivalent work experience
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in remittances, payments, or fintech, with a strong track record in sales, business development, and market expansion.
- Distribution, Network, Agency and Channel Management experience will be an added advantage.
- Deep knowledge of the India remittance and payments landscape, including banks, wallets, MTOs, fintechs, stables and retail networks.
- Strong relationships with key players in the industry, including financial institutions, regulators, and partners.
- Proven ability to lead regulatory engagement and manage compliance with local financial authorities.
- Exceptional sales and negotiation skills with a track record of closing high-value deals.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and ability to drive execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Entrepreneurial mindset – ability to innovate, take ownership, and drive significant impact.
- Experience representing a company in high-profile industry events and public forums.
- Working with Cross functional in a Matrix organization.
- Demonstrated expertise in independent planning, managing and executing sales strategies.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi.

- Fluent in both written and spoken in local language. Fluency in English would be highly advantageous.
