Senior Software Engineer (C++)

The Firm

Teesta Investment is a proprietary high-frequency trading (HFT) and market-making firm in digital assets. We build automated trading systems that operate 24×7 across global crypto markets, where performance, reliability, and precision directly influence trading outcomes.

Trading infrastructure is unlike conventional software. Every microsecond matters. Market data arrives continuously, execution decisions must be made with extremely low latency, and systems are expected to remain reliable under constantly changing market conditions.

At Teesta, engineers work on challenging systems problems at the intersection of software engineering, distributed systems, networking, and quantitative research. We believe exceptional engineering is built through curiosity, ownership, and continuous learning.

The Team

You'll join a small, highly technical engineering team responsible for building the software that powers our trading platform. We work closely with traders and quantitative researchers to transform ideas into production systems that are fast, reliable, and scalable.

Engineers at Teesta are expected to think beyond individual tasks. We value people who enjoy solving difficult problems, care deeply about engineering quality, and take ownership of the systems they build.

The Role

Building software for high-frequency trading presents challenges that extend far beyond application development.

Trading systems must process vast volumes of market data, execute orders with minimal latency, and remain predictable under demanding production environments. Performance, correctness, and reliability are equally important, and even small engineering improvements can have a measurable impact.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll contribute to the design, development, and optimisation of the core systems that power our trading platform. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll build software that performs reliably under real-world market conditions while continuously improving latency, scalability, and maintainability.

Your work may include:

Designing, developing, and optimising high-performance applications using modern C++.
Building low-latency components for market data processing and trade execution.
Applying data structures and algorithms to solve complex performance-critical problems.
Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable production code.
Collaborating with engineers, traders, and quantitative researchers to design robust technical solutions.
Participating in code reviews and contributing to engineering standards, best practices, and knowledge sharing.
Monitoring, debugging, and improving production systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
Continuously evaluating new technologies, tools, and engineering practices that improve system performance.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for engineers who enjoy building high-performance systems and take pride in writing elegant, efficient software.

You should have:

3-6 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in high-frequency trading, algorithmic trading, or another performance-critical environment.
Strong proficiency in modern C++ with a proven track record of writing efficient, maintainable production code.
Excellent understanding of data structures, algorithms, and computational complexity.
Strong knowledge of operating systems, memory management, concurrency, and multithreaded programming.
Familiarity with Linux development environments and systems programming.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Curiosity, adaptability, and a desire to continuously learn and improve.

Prior experience in HFT or electronic trading is preferred but not mandatory. Exceptional systems engineers from other performance-critical domains are encouraged to apply.
