Job Description – Sales Executive (Edu-Tech / Tutor App)

Position: Sales Executive – Inside Sales & Field Sales (Lead Generation, Cold Calling, Webinars & Sales Closure)
Department: Sales & Business Development
Location: Banglore (Field + Office/Hybrid)
Experience: 1–3 years (Freshers with excellent communication can also apply)

About Meritzee

Meritzee is an EdTech company building a tutor/learning app that connects students with quality educators and courses. We are looking for driven, target-oriented Sales Executives who can generate leads, run engaging webinars, and close admissions/sales through both tele-calling and field visits.

Role Summary

The Sales Executive will be responsible for the end-to-end sales cycle — from lead generation and cold calling to conducting webinars/demo sessions, handling field sales visits, and closing enrollments/subscriptions for the Meritzee tutor app.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead Generation & Prospecting

Generate new leads through cold calling, database calling, social media, referrals, and campus/community outreach.
Identify potential customers (students/parents/institutions) interested in tutoring/learning solutions.
Maintain and update lead pipeline in CRM daily.

2. Cold Calling & Tele-Sales

Make outbound calls to prospective leads to explain Meritzee's app, courses, and offerings.
Qualify leads based on interest, need, and budget.
Schedule counseling calls, demo sessions, or webinar attendance for interested prospects.
Follow up consistently with warm/cold leads to nurture them toward conversion.

3. Webinar & Event Management

Plan, coordinate, and conduct online webinars/demo sessions to showcase the app/courses to prospective students and parents.
Present course value proposition, pricing, and offers persuasively during webinars.
Organize and represent Meritzee at offline events, seminars, school/college tie-ups, and education fairs.
Handle audience Q&A and objection handling live during sessions.

4. Sales Conversion & Closing

Convert leads generated through calls, webinars, and events into paid enrollments/subscriptions.
Handle pricing negotiations, offer explanations, and payment processing.
Achieve individual and team sales/revenue targets on a weekly/monthly basis.
Follow structured sales pitch and objection-handling frameworks provided by the company.

5. Field Sales

Conduct in-person meetings with parents/students/institutions as required for high-value closures.
Visit schools, coaching centers, and local communities to build partnerships and generate walk-in leads.
Represent the brand professionally during field visits and local marketing activities.

6. Reporting & CRM Management

Maintain accurate records of calls, leads, conversions, and follow-ups in CRM/Excel.
Share daily/weekly sales reports with the reporting manager.
Provide market feedback and competitor insights to improve sales strategy.

Required Skills & Competencies

Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills (Regional language + Hindi/English).
Strong convincing and negotiation ability.
Confidence in public speaking / webinar hosting.
Basic knowledge of CRM tools, Excel, and calling software.
Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable with a fast-paced sales environment.
Willingness to travel locally for field sales and events.
Prior experience in EdTech/telesales/inside sales is a plus.

Qualifications

Graduate in any discipline (preferred: Business, Marketing, or Education-related field).
Freshers with strong communication skills are welcome; prior sales/tele-calling experience preferred.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Number of leads generated per day/week.
Number of calls made and connect ratio.
Webinar attendance-to-conversion ratio.
Number of sales closures / revenue achieved vs. target.
Field visit conversion rate.
