Full job description

The Chef de Partie (CDP) – Bakery is responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting high-quality bakery products while maintaining food safety, hygiene, and quality standards. The role involves managing daily bakery operations, ensuring consistency in production, and supporting the culinary team in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and bake a variety of bread, rolls, pastries, cakes, muffins, cookies, and other bakery items as per standard recipes.
Ensure consistency in taste, quality, appearance, and portion sizes.
Monitor and control baking processes, including mixing, proofing, baking, and finishing.
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, sanitation, and workplace cleanliness.
Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients and finished products.
Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the Sous Chef or Executive Chef.
Minimize food wastage and ensure efficient utilization of raw materials.
Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and introducing new bakery products.
Train and guide junior bakery staff and commis chefs.
Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, and hotel quality standards.
Coordinate with other kitchen departments to meet operational requirements.
Maintain bakery equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Diploma or Certification in Bakery, Pastry, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in bakery operations, preferably in hotels, resorts, or large-scale food production units.
Strong knowledge of bakery techniques, ingredients, and production processes.
Ability to operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
