Varija Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd. is a retail and marketing-focused organisation engaged in building and managing consumer brands across modern retail, e-commerce, and other sales channels. The company works across multiple platforms and requires strong financial controls, accurate accounting, timely compliance, and effective financial reporting.

Job Summary:-

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, statutory compliances, reconciliations, financial reporting, and coordination with internal teams, vendors, customers, and external consultants.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of Tally Prime/ERP, GST, TDS, bank reconciliation, vendor/customer reconciliation, e-commerce accounting, inventory accounting, and MIS reporting.

Key Responsibilities:-

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

Manage day-to-day accounting entries and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
Maintain and review sales, purchase, receipt, payment, journal, and contra entries.
Maintain proper ledgers and accounting records in Tally Prime/ERP.
Review accounting entries passed by junior team members and ensure accuracy.
Ensure proper accounting of expenses, provisions, accruals, and adjustments.
Maintain proper documentation and supporting records for all transactions.

2. GST & Statutory Compliance

Handle day-to-day GST-related accounting and reconciliation.
Prepare and review GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and other applicable GST workings in coordination with consultants.
Reconcile purchase data with GSTR-2B and identify discrepancies.
Ensure correct GST treatment on purchases, sales, expenses, credit notes, and debit notes.
Maintain records required for GST audits and assessments.
Coordinate with external CA/tax consultants for statutory compliance and queries.

3. TDS & Taxation

Calculate and record applicable TDS deductions.
Prepare TDS workings and coordinate for timely payment and return filing.
Verify vendor/customer tax-related documentation.
Assist in income-tax and other statutory compliance requirements.
Coordinate with the CA/consultant for tax-related matters.

4. Bank & Ledger Reconciliation

Perform regular bank reconciliations and identify unmatched transactions.
Reconcile customer and vendor ledgers.
Follow up on outstanding receivables and payables.
Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
Monitor ageing reports and highlight overdue balances to management.

5. E-Commerce & Marketplace Accounting

Handle accounting and reconciliation for Amazon, Flipkart, JioMart, BigBasket, and other online marketplaces.
Reconcile marketplace sales with settlement/payment reports.
Verify marketplace deductions such as commissions, logistics charges, advertising expenses, returns, refunds, and other charges.
Reconcile marketplace receivables and identify pending/unsettled amounts.
Coordinate with the e-commerce team to resolve differences between sales, orders, returns, and accounting records.

6. Inventory & Stock Accounting

Reconcile physical inventory with accounting/ERP records.
Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams for stock-related discrepancies.
Account for stock transfers, returns, damages, shortages, and adjustments.
Assist in periodic stock verification and inventory valuation.
Ensure proper accounting of inventory purchases and related expenses.

7. MIS & Management Reporting

Prepare regular MIS reports related to sales, expenses, receivables, payables, inventory, and cash flow.
Prepare outstanding receivable and payable reports.
Assist management in analysing expenses and financial performance.
Prepare monthly closing schedules and supporting statements.
Provide accurate financial data and reports within defined timelines.

8. Vendor & Customer Management

Verify vendor invoices, GST details, purchase orders, and supporting documents.
Ensure timely processing and recording of vendor bills.
Reconcile customer accounts and collections.
Coordinate with vendors/customers for ledger confirmation and discrepancy resolution.
Maintain proper records of advances and adjustments.

9. Audit & Financial Closing

Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
Prepare schedules and supporting documents required for statutory and internal audits.
Coordinate with statutory auditors and external consultants.
Ensure proper documentation and audit trail for accounting transactions.
Assist in preparation of financial statements and year-end closing.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) is required.
M.Com / CA Inter / CMA / equivalent qualification will be an advantage.
4–7 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
Strong working knowledge of Tally Prime / ERP and MS Excel.
Good knowledge of GST, TDS, accounting principles, and statutory compliance.
Experience in e-commerce/marketplace accounting and reconciliation will be preferred.
Strong knowledge of Bank Reconciliation, Vendor Reconciliation, Customer Reconciliation, and Ledger Scrutiny.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to independently manage accounting activities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in retail, e-commerce, FMCG, consumer products, D2C brands, or multi-channel businesses will be preferred.

Experience handling accounts for marketplaces such as Amazon, Flipkart, JioMart, BigBasket, or similar platforms will be an added advantage.
