Job Title: Commis II

Department: Food & Beverage Production (Kitchen)

Reports To: Chef de Partie / Sous Chef

Job Summary

The Commis II assists in preparing and cooking food while ensuring quality, consistency, hygiene, and efficient kitchen operations. The role requires a good understanding of basic cooking techniques and the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook food according to standard recipes.

Assist the Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations.

Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the work station.

Monitor stock levels and report shortages.

Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP guidelines.

Ensure proper storage and handling of food products.

Minimize food wastage through proper portion control.

Train and guide Commis III staff when required.

Perform additional duties assigned by senior chefs.

Qualifications

Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management preferred.

1–3 years of relevant kitchen experience.

Skills Required

Good knowledge of cooking techniques.

Ability to work under pressure.

Teamwork and communication skills.

Attention to detail.

Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
