Full job description

We are seeking to recruit an intermediate to senior Piping Designer to join our GCC India team located in Bengaluru, Noida and Mumbai for helping to contribute towards its continuing success.

To contribute for Mechanical Infrastructure projects, such as sewer andwatermains, pumping stations, treatment plants, recycled water, dams, desalination plants, preparing GA drawings and piping layouts,

and process drawings as per WSP CAD standards.

Responsible for generating and maintaining federated BIM compliant models, undergoing clash detection and reporting, database management and manipulation in compliance with client BIM and CAD standards.
This role is to contribute to support on piping task of utilities infrastructure CAD team delivering wet utilities (including Wastewater / Water Sewage Pumping Station and Water management for municipal

service) deliverables in compliance with WSP CAD standards.

Responsible for Preparation of drawings including conceptual sketches and detailed construction drawings, using Plant3D /AutoCAD Autodesk software with quality and accuracy.
Take ownership for large and small projects, and conduct meetings, check ins, design reviews with clients, engineers, other design staff showcasing a high level of technical and professional acuity.
Working knowledge of Autodesk Vault software. Our CDE (Common Data Environment).
Responsible for the preparation of Bill of Materials, Quantity take-off’s and schedules for equipment, piping and accessories associated with water projects and WSP/client standards.
Actively participate in the design and provide input to the design team throughout the design process.

Must have the ability to develop, layouts, labelling, dimensioning, sheet layout, design details and other appropriate design concepts. Develop detail design drawings incorporating vendor Data and 3D

drawings for water treatment plant projects.

Familiar with the relevant International Standards, and able to learn and understand client’s standards and specifications.

Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD or piping ISO drawings and models to assist with investigations of engineering problems.
The ability to creates and modify detailed engineering drawings using 3D Autodesk software packages based on information supplied by engineers and designers.
Create and Draft PFDs, PIDs, work on equipment and piping 3D model development.
Develop overall piping plans, general layouts, isometrics, plot plans, and other project specific details Including the application Site Topographical Survey drawings and data.
Liaise with the design teams as necessary to coordinate 3D Model design processes and production.
Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple projects with the ability to accurately predict the time required to fulfil the individual scopes of work required.
Reviewing drawings to ensure compliance with Client drafting standards, Australian Standards and other relevant standards as required by local and federal legislation.
Coordinate with a multi-disciplinary project team.
Coordinating with Australian lead offices as per project requirement.
Communicate with internal peers and project team and may be required to answer questions regarding deliverables.
Responsible for CAD tasks (3D, 2D, collaboration and management) as directed by the CAD Manager and Engineer.

Ensuring that quality assurance (QA) procedures are implemented and maintained, becoming a champion of QA to uphold the high level of quality WSP maintain and aiming to improve QA processes.
Carry out audits of adherence to WSP Management and Quality processes and implement corrective measures where required.
Ensure Models, Drawings Schedules and Design Data is issued correctly, filed in the correct location for adherence to WSP standards.
Be present in regular catch up / project meetings to provide work status updates, including risks of concerns, to line manager, understanding communication is the key to all successful projects and delivery

programs.

Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies, be vigilant regarding health and safety even when outside of work hours.

Develop and maintain expertise by developing, reviewing and adapting emerging technologies and techniques to stay up to date improving modelling and Drafting skills.
Support the WSP approach to sustainability, future ready and encouraging design teams in a forward-thinking manner to Adopt alternate design technologies to encourage a better footprint for the

environment.

Be willing to develop and learn new skills and software, cross discipline minded (understanding structural requirements, Civil requirements) and implementing those design requirements into your

models / drawings.

Identify improvements (where possible) to enhance WSP service to clients.
Adhere to WSP corporate standards and policies, i.e. complete accurate timesheets by set deadline, undergo ethical training

Contribute to knowledge sharing in internal and external forums.
Remain up to date with market and competitor knowledge.

Should have 3-10 years experience.
Should have diploma or Degree in Mechanical or relevant field.
Experience with Autodesk software such as AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Navisworks, Vault, BIM 360
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English
Experience with utilities water pipeline projects: potable water supply mains from DN50-DN1200, pumping stations, reservoirs, water sampling stations, bulk metering systems, chemical dosing systems etc. (note this is bulk distribution and reticulation services, not house and business connections)
Experience with utilities wastewater and recycled water pipeline: projects: gravity sewers and rising mains of all sizes and various pipe materials, pumping stations, emergency storage systems, odour control units etc.
Experience with projects in Australia, New Zealand would be an advantage.
