Full job description

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Operations

Manage day-to-day accounting and finance activities.
Maintain accurate books of accounts, ledgers, journals, and financial records.
Ensure timely recording and reconciliation of all financial transactions.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, expenses, and collections.
Conduct regular bank and ledger reconciliations.

2. Financial Management

Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
Manage and monitor organizational cash flow.
Track income, expenses, profitability, and financial performance.
Provide management with regular financial reports and analysis.
Identify areas for cost control and improved financial efficiency.
Support management in financial decision-making through accurate data and analysis.

3. MIS & Management Reporting

Prepare regular MIS reports for management.
Develop financial dashboards and performance reports where required.
Analyze financial trends, variances, and business performance.
Highlight financial risks, unusual expenses, and areas requiring management attention.
Provide clear and timely financial information to senior management.

4. Compliance & Controls

Ensure compliance with applicable accounting, taxation, and statutory requirements.
Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and other financial institutions.
Support statutory audits and internal audits.
Maintain proper documentation and financial controls.
Ensure timely filing and payment of applicable statutory obligations.

5. Cash Flow & Working Capital

Monitor daily and monthly cash-flow requirements.
Plan payments and collections effectively.
Maintain adequate working capital for operational requirements.
Follow up on outstanding receivables and ensure timely collections.
Coordinate with relevant departments regarding payments and financial commitments.

6. Financial Planning & Business Support

Assist management with annual financial planning and budgeting.
Evaluate financial implications of new initiatives and business decisions.
Prepare financial projections and scenario analysis.
Identify opportunities to improve profitability and reduce unnecessary costs.
Provide financial support for expansion, investments, and operational planning.

7. Team & Process Management

Coordinate with accounts and finance team members.
Review accounting work and ensure accuracy and timely completion.
Establish and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Take ownership of finance-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
Work closely with HR, operations, admissions, management, and other departments on financial matters.

Key Performance Expectations

The successful candidate will be expected to:

Demonstrate strong ownership and accountability for the finance function.
Maintain high standards of accuracy and financial discipline.
Provide timely and reliable financial reports to management.
Proactively identify financial issues and recommend solutions.
Take initiatives to improve financial processes and controls.
Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.
Support management with clear, practical, and data-driven financial insights.
Gradually take ownership of broader Financial Manager responsibilities in addition to core accounting functions.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional qualifications such as CA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent would be an advantage.
Strong experience in accounting and financial management.
Good knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, and compliance.
Strong Excel and accounting software skills.
Experience in preparing MIS and management reports.
Ability to independently manage finance operations and work with senior management.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
