Full job description

We are looking for a Shopify Tech Lead who can architect, develop, and lead the implementation of complex Shopify solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in Shopify Plus, app development, custom theme development, backend programming (NodeJS or Python), and integration with third-party systems (ERP, CRM, Payment gateways, etc.).

You’ll lead a team of Shopify developers, collaborate with cross-functional teams (UI/UX, QA, BA, PM), and ensure timely, high-quality deliveries aligned with client goals.

Key Responsibilities:Lead end-to-end Shopify, Shopify Plus and Shopify for Enterprise development projects — from requirement gathering to go-live.Architect scalable and high-performing Shopify solutions with a focus on performance, SEO, and conversion.Oversee and mentor the development team — perform code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure best practices.

Collaborate with the Sales team, Designers, BAs, and PMs to translate business needs into technical solutions, define architecture, provide an estimation and be able to give demos. Develop custom Shopify apps, backend services (using NodeJS or Python), API integrations, and third-party service connections.

Manage Shopify migrations from other platforms like WooCommerce, Magento, or custom builds.Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing Shopify stores.Drive automation, reusability, and adoption of AI-driven tools for faster and better-quality output.Ensure compliance with security, performance, and accessibility standards.Stay updated with new Shopify releases, Liquid updates, and eCommerce trends.

Technical Skills Required: Strong expertise in Shopify, Shopify Plus, and Liquid templating language.Experience in custom theme and app development (public and private).

Proficiency in any one backend technology — NodeJS or Python (NodeJS preferred).Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JSON, AJAX, and REST/GraphQL APIs.Experience with Shopify API integrations (ERP, CRM, Payment, Shipping).Familiarity with Headless Commerce and frontend frameworks (ReactJS, Next.js) is a plus.

Knowledge of Shopify CLI, GIT, Azure DevOps, and deployment pipelines.Experience in optimizing Shopify SEO, site speed, and conversion tracking.Understanding of Shopify Storefront API and Hydrogen framework (preferred).

Good understanding of Shopify Apps ecosystem and marketplace submission guidelines.Vibe coding, AI based development, should be required Leadership & Soft Skills:Proven ability to lead and mentor a small to mid-sized team.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with clients and stakeholders.Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.Eagerness to learn new technologies, adapt to evolving tools, exploring AI-assisted development and drive innovation.
