Job Description – Video Editor & Videographer

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and creative Video Editor & Videographer who can handle both video production and post-production.

The ideal candidate should be experienced in shooting and editing social media reels, advertisements, product videos, brand films, corporate videos, interviews and promotional content.

The candidate should have a strong understanding of visual storytelling, cinematography, composition, pacing, lighting, sound and current social media content trends.

This role is ideal for someone who can take ownership of the complete video production process from understanding the creative brief and planning the shoot to capturing footage, editing the content and delivering the final video.

Key ResponsibilitiesVideo Editing & Post-Production

Edit high-quality Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, advertisements, promotional videos, product videos, corporate videos and brand content.
Transform raw footage into engaging videos with strong storytelling, pacing and visual flow.
Perform colour correction and basic colour grading.
Handle audio editing, sound design, music selection and voice synchronisation.
Add appropriate transitions, text, subtitles, effects and other editing elements.
Create different versions and aspect ratios for Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and other digital platforms.
Understand platform-specific editing styles and optimise content for viewer retention and engagement.
Handle revisions and implement creative/client feedback efficiently.

Video Shooting & Videography

Plan and execute shoots for reels, advertisements, product videos, interviews, corporate videos and brand campaigns.
Operate DSLR, mirrorless or professional video cameras.
Have a good understanding of camera settings, exposure, frame rates, shutter speed, aperture, ISO and white balance.
Understand composition, framing, lenses, shot types and camera movements.
Capture professional-quality footage suitable for post-production and colour grading.
Operate basic production equipment such as tripods, gimbals, handheld rigs, microphones and lighting equipment.
Set up basic lighting for interviews, products, talking-head videos and creative shoots.
Plan shots according to scripts, storyboards and creative briefs.
Handle product, lifestyle, corporate, interview and social media shoots.
Ensure footage is properly organised and backed up after every shoot.

Pre-Production

Understand scripts, creative briefs and campaign requirements.
Contribute to visual concepts, shot planning and storyboarding.
Prepare basic shot lists before shoots.
Identify camera, lighting, audio and other equipment required for production.
Coordinate with the creative team, content writers, designers, social media managers and clients.
Suggest suitable visual styles, locations, shots and camera techniques.

Project Management

Manage multiple editing and shooting projects simultaneously.
Work efficiently within daily, weekly and campaign-based deadlines.
Maintain organised project files, footage, audio, graphics and other assets.
Maintain proper file naming, folder structures and backups.
Deliver projects in the required resolution, aspect ratio, codec and platform specifications.
Take ownership of projects from shoot through final delivery.

Required SkillsVideo Editing

Minimum 2 years of professional video editing experience.
Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects for basic text animation, transitions and visual effects.
Strong understanding of editing, storytelling, pacing and rhythm.
Experience editing content specifically for social media and digital marketing.
Good knowledge of colour correction, basic colour grading and audio editing.
Experience with subtitles, captions and social-media-friendly video formats.

Videography

Hands-on experience operating DSLR/mirrorless/professional cameras.
Strong understanding of camera settings and exposure.
Good knowledge of composition, framing, lenses and camera movements.
Experience shooting Reels, advertisements, products, interviews, corporate videos and brand content.
Experience using gimbals, tripods, microphones and lighting equipment.
Ability to independently handle a basic video shoot.
Understanding of basic cinematography and lighting.

Creative Skills

Strong visual storytelling ability.
Good creative eye and understanding of aesthetics.
Strong sense of timing, pacing and composition.
Ability to understand a creative brief and execute it independently.
Ability to identify what makes content engaging on social media.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work under tight deadlines.

Professional Skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a creative team.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced branding and integrated marketing agency.
Willingness to travel locally for shoots when required.
Ability to handle equipment responsibly and maintain organised workflows.

Preferred / Added Advantages

Experience working in a branding, advertising, production or digital marketing agency.
Experience working directly with clients during shoots.
Knowledge of DaVinci Resolve is an advantage.
Photography experience is an advantage.
Drone videography experience is an advantage.
Experience with professional cinema cameras is an advantage.
Experience creating high-performing Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of AI-powered video and editing tools is an advantage.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a hands-on Video Editor & Videographer, not someone focused purely on post-production.

The ideal candidate should be able to:

Understand the brief → Plan the shoot → Set up the camera & lights → Shoot → Organise footage → Edit → Colour & sound → Deliver the final video.

The candidate should have a strong creative eye, technical understanding and ownership mindset, and should be comfortable handling both camera work and editing.

Portfolio Requirement

Candidates must provide a portfolio/showreel demonstrating their video editing and videography work.

Candidates with strong practical experience and a solid portfolio will be prioritised over qualifications alone.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
