SENIOR MANAGER – FINANCE & MIS

Designation: Finance Manager

Company: Packrite Industries Pvt Ltd (Ganpati Enterprises)

Location: Kolkata, West Bengal

Reports To: Proprietor / Management

Experience: 3+ years in finance, treasury, banking or trade finance

Employment Type: Full-time

ABOUT THE ROLE

Ganpati Enterprises is looking for a finance professional to take complete ownership of banking relationships, treasury, cash flow and management reporting. The role covers working capital and trade finance, import and export transactions, foreign exchange exposure and hedging in coordination with our forex advisors, budgeting and forecasting, and the tracking of receivables, payables and credit.

The person will be the single point of accountability for the financial control and reporting of the business, working directly with management to protect margins from interest and currency cost and to ensure that the business is never short of funds.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Banking Relationships & Trade Finance

- Own day-to-day relationships with all banking partners — sanctioned limits, renewals, documentation, stock and book debt statements, and periodic submissions.

- Manage the full range of working capital and trade finance instruments: cash credit and overdraft, buyer's credit, supplier's credit, packing credit, bill discounting, LC issuance and negotiation, bank guarantees and term loans.

- Negotiate interest rates, charges, margin and tenor with banks; benchmark offers across lenders and drive down the effective cost of funds.

- Evaluate financing options for new requirements and present comparative workings with the true landed cost of each option to management.

Foreign Exchange & Hedging

- Maintain a live position of all foreign currency exposures — imports, exports, buyer's credit and other liabilities — by currency and maturity.

- Liaise with the company's forex advisors and bank treasury desks on hedging strategy, forward covers, and the timing and pricing of hedges.

- Execute and record hedging transactions, track mark-to-market positions, and report realised and notional gains and losses.

- Ensure regulatory and documentary compliance for forex transactions and for import and export remittances.

Cash Flow, Budgeting & Forecasting

- Prepare and maintain rolling short-term and annual cash flow forecasts; identify surpluses and shortfalls in advance and plan accordingly.

- Prepare annual budgets in coordination with the sales and operations functions; track actual performance against budget and analyse variances.

- Compute and monitor interest cost, effective rate of borrowing and the financing cost embedded in every transaction.

- Manage day-to-day fund positioning across bank accounts to minimise idle funds and interest cost.

Receivables, Payables & Credit Control

- Track customer receivables and ageing; drive collections in coordination with the sales team and escalate overdue accounts.

- Assess and monitor customer credit limits and exposure; recommend credit terms and security where required.

- Manage the payables cycle and vendor payment scheduling in line with the cash flow plan and negotiated credit terms.

MIS & Financial Reporting

- Prepare and circulate monthly MIS — profitability, working capital, debtor and creditor ageing, inventory, bank position and cost of funds.

- Build and maintain reporting formats and dashboards that give management a clear and timely view of the financial position of the business.

- Coordinate with the accounts team and auditors on books closure, statutory compliance and audit requirements.

Import & Export Finance

- Handle the financial and documentary aspects of imports and exports — bills of entry, shipping documents, customs duty planning and remittances.

- Coordinate with CHAs, freight forwarders and banks to ensure smooth and timely transaction closure.

- Track and claim applicable export incentives and duty benefits.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

- Chartered Accountant, MBA (Finance), CMA, or a Commerce graduate with strong and relevant hands-on experience.

- 3+ years of experience in finance and treasury, with direct exposure to banking relationships and trade finance in a trading or manufacturing organisation.

- Practical, working knowledge of import and export transactions, Buyer's Credit and remittance documentation.

- Sound understanding of foreign exchange, forward contracts and hedging concepts, and of interest rate computation and the comparison of financing options.

- Advanced MS Excel skills and comfort with accounting or ERP systems such as Tally, SAP or equivalent.

- High standards of accuracy, confidentiality and personal integrity.

Preferred

- Prior experience managing cashflow MIS and budgeting.

- Prior experience of handling multi-currency exposures and of working alongside external forex advisors.

- Exposure to commodity trading sectors.

- Familiarity with import / export processes.
