Job Description – Security Consultant (Microsoft Cloud Security)

Job Title

Security Consultant – Microsoft Cloud Security

Location

India – Coimbatore / Remote (Flexible)

Candidates can work remotely and must be willing to travel based on project and customer requirements.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Security Consultant – Microsoft Cloud Security to join our Cloud and Cybersecurity practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Microsoft Security and Compliance technologies and will be responsible for pre-sales consulting, solution design, technical demonstrations, Proof of Concept (PoC) execution, and delivery support for enterprise customers.

The consultant will work closely with sales, business development, architects, and delivery teams to design and implement secure cloud solutions leveraging Microsoft 365 and Azure security technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales & Solution Consulting

- Engage with customers to understand business, security, compliance, and technical requirements.
- Work closely with Sales and Business Development teams to position Microsoft Security solutions and demonstrate their capabilities, value propositions, and business use cases.
- Recommend optimal licensing strategies and solution architectures based on customer requirements.
- Conduct technical presentations, workshops, and solution demonstrations for customers.

Solution Design & Architecture

- Design end-to-end Microsoft security solutions incorporating Microsoft 365, Azure Security, and Compliance technologies.
- Prepare technical proposals, Statements of Work (SOW), architecture documents, and implementation plans.
- Develop effort estimations, project scope, assumptions, risks, and deployment strategies.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation and architecture diagrams.

Proof of Concept (PoC) & Assessments

- Plan, lead, and execute customer Proof of Concepts (PoCs) with defined success criteria, timelines, and deliverables.
- Demonstrate real-world security and compliance use cases using Microsoft technologies.
- Present PoC outcomes, recommendations, and implementation roadmaps to customers.

Project & Delivery Support

- Support implementation teams during project execution and troubleshooting activities.
- Provide technical guidance and best practices for solution deployment and adoption.
- Assist remote deployment resources and project stakeholders as needed.
- Stay updated on Microsoft's evolving security portfolio, licensing models, and industry best practices.

Required Experience

- Total IT / Cybersecurity Experience: 5–10 years
- Relevant Microsoft Security Experience: Minimum 2–3 years
- Experience in customer-facing consulting, solution design, pre-sales, or implementation roles.
- Hands-on experience delivering Microsoft security projects for enterprise customers is preferred.

Technical Skills

Candidates should have strong hands-on expertise in at least three of the following Microsoft Security and Compliance domains, with broad knowledge across the remaining areas:

- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
- Microsoft Defender for Identity
- Microsoft Defender for Office 365
- Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM/SOAR)
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Identity Protection
- Microsoft Intune (MDM/MAM)
- Microsoft Cloud App Security (Defender for Cloud Apps)

Microsoft Compliance & Data Protection

- Microsoft Purview Information Protection
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
- Insider Risk Management
- Information Governance & Records Management
- Compliance and Regulatory Controls

Azure Security

- Microsoft Defender for Cloud
- Azure Security Architecture
- Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM)
- Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Security Monitoring and Threat Detection

Preferred Certifications

One or more of the following certifications are highly desirable:

- Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100)
- Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst (SC-200)
- Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator (SC-400)
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator (SC-300)
- Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900)
- Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)

General Skills

- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and business audiences.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Good understanding of cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of security frameworks, governance, risk, and compliance requirements.
- Understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, networking, and security architectures.
- Familiarity with data protection, privacy, and DLP technologies.
- Knowledge of application security, infrastructure security, and Zero Trust principles.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
