Job Description – Billing & Front Desk Executive

Position: Billing & Front Desk Executive
Department: Front Office / Billing
Location: Axten Hospitals
Reporting To: Front Office Manager / Operations Manager
Experience: 1–3 years in hospital/healthcare front office and billing preferred
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are looking for a professional and customer-focused Billing & Front Desk Executive to manage front desk operations, patient coordination, registration, billing, cash handling, and related administrative activities. The candidate should have good communication skills, a pleasant personality, and the ability to handle patients and attendants professionally.

Key ResponsibilitiesFront Desk & Patient Coordination

Greet and assist patients and attendants in a polite and professional manner.
Handle patient registration, appointments, enquiries, and front desk queries.
Coordinate with doctors, nursing, billing, and other hospital departments.
Guide patients regarding hospital services, procedures, and payment processes.
Manage incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate department.
Maintain accurate patient records and required documentation.
Handle patient concerns professionally and escalate issues when required.

Billing Responsibilities

Prepare and process patient bills accurately as per hospital services.
Generate OPD, IPD, procedure, diagnostic, pharmacy, and other applicable bills.
Verify billing entries, discounts, packages, deposits, and adjustments.
Collect cash, card, UPI, and other approved payments and issue receipts.
Maintain daily cash collection and billing records.
Coordinate with the Finance/Accounts team for reconciliation and reporting.
Ensure all billing transactions are properly recorded in the hospital billing system.
Assist with discharge billing and final settlement of patient accounts.
Coordinate with TPA/insurance teams, where applicable.

Administrative Responsibilities

Maintain front desk registers, records, and documentation.
Ensure proper handover of cash, documents, and pending billing matters between shifts.
Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information.
Follow hospital SOPs, policies, and patient service standards.
Support the hospital team in maintaining smooth day-to-day front office operations.

Required Skills

Good verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service and patient-handling skills.
Basic knowledge of hospital billing and front office operations.
Good computer skills and familiarity with MS Office.
Experience with hospital billing/HMIS software will be preferred.
Good numerical and cash-handling skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Educational Qualification

Graduate in any discipline preferred.
Diploma/Certificate in Hospital Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field will be an advantage.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centres, or healthcare facilities will be preferred, particularly those having experience in both patient coordination and billing operations.

Timely completion of patient billing and discharge processes.
Patient satisfaction and professional front desk handling.
Accuracy of patient registration and documentation.
Proper daily cash and billing reconciliation.
Compliance with hospital policies and SOPs.
Effective coordination with internal departments.

Note: The employee may be required to work in rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays, as per hospital requirements.

Pay: ₹10,029.42 - ₹32,563.62 per month
