Full job description

Photographer – Brand & Commerce

About the Role:

We're adding you to our Lens Team to create video content that stops the scroll and drives commerce. You'll shoot product explainers, category education, founder-led campaigns and lifestyle content. Your videos will go live on Meta, Instagram, YouTube, the website, and Retail stores. You're not just a videographer - you're a visual strategist who understands that a 15-second Meta video and a 60-second explainer require different approaches. Speed and creativity are non-negotiable.

Core Responsibilities:

Shoot lifestyle and aspirational content (plant parenting, gardening setups, transformation stories, work on IPs).
Develop visual styles and treatments that are distinctly "Ugaoo," establishing a recognizable visual language across platforms
Color grade and deliver finished videos ready for platform deployment
Work closely with the Edit table to explain the final expected outcome.
Collaborate on location scouting, production design, and creative direction.
Understand platform requirements and adapt across channels: ATL, BTL & Digital
Shoot at our farm in Talegaon to capture authenticity and product origin stories

Creative Problem-Solving:

You understand that product videos for plants aren't generic demos - they're about storytelling, brand credibility, and conversion levers.
You pitch creative treatments confidently and push back on mediocre ideas.
You adapt on the fly: changing light, founder feedback, location constraints - you find the shot.
You notice gaps in our video library and proactively suggest what we should shoot next.

What Will Set You Apart:

Experience with product videos, e-commerce content, or DTC brands
Knowledge of plants, gardening, or agriculture products
Understanding of Meta/Instagram algorithm and what drives performance
Ability to work with minimal crew (self-shooting, managing your own audio)
Experience with motion graphics or animated explainers
Drone footage experience

The Person We're Looking For:

Creatively scrappy: You create great content with a minimal budget/crew; you don't always need a full production.
Agility: You immediately understand a brief, make smart decisions on set, and execute without endless loops.
Curious about the category: Genuinely interested in plants, gardening, and the Ugaoo story.
Collaborative but confident: You take feedback and bring ideas; you're not just an order-taker.
Visual storyteller: You think in visuals and movements; you know how to build tension, emotion, or clarity with camera and pacing.
Humble: You learn; you adapt quickly; you're not precious about your work.
Originality: You don't just follow directions, you direct things yourself and pitch new approaches.

AI Skills

Familiarity with AI-powered video editing and enhancement tools (Premiere Pro AI features, Runway, CapCut for Teams, or similar)
Ability to use AI for upscaling, noise reduction, and colour grading assistance to turn around content faster. Understanding of AI tools for auto-captioning, subtitle generation, and platform-specific reformatting at scale
Comfortable integrating AI into the production workflow — using it to move faster without compromising on creative quality
